Our team consists of research and technical experts whose main focus is to develop innovative products that consistently meet the needs of our customers.  

The Key Account Manager on our Industrial Sales team, is based out of your home office in the Vancouver area. You will be responsible for driving incremental volume and margin growth by selling packaged oils, margarines, and shortenings to key industrial accounts in the Western Canada and the Pacific Northwestern US markets with a focus on customer satisfaction. 

Responsibilities:

  • Grow industrial sales with a focus on tier 1 distributors with a goal to expand sales to support two sales roles, one for each channel in the Western Canada and the Pacific Northwestern US markets
  • Lead the Western Canada and the Pacific Northwestern US markets sales efforts by holding regular meetings, account planning, setting and monitoring sales targets
  • Develop and present business reviews to customers and leadership; manage key customer relationships
  • Develop and implement customer account plans, contract management, sales forecasts and margins in alignment with sales goals and strategies
  • Gather sales data for the Western Canada and the Pacific Northwestern US markets, identify trends and make recommendations to drive distributor label growth
  • Organize, manage and participate in food shows for the Western Canada and the Pacific Northwestern US markets
  • Liaise with marketing, sales support, quality assurance, product innovation and operations to deliver goods in a timely and efficient manner and support the development of new products

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, food science or related field; ideally 5+ years of food ingredient customer facing sales experience
  • Knowledge of food industry and commodity markets; basic knowledge of fats and oils in food systems and formulations
  • Understanding of ingredient applications, specifically baking and frying categories
  • Well-developed analytical skills to apply financial data to strategic decision making and influence outcomes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel required
  • Must be willing to travel in Canada and the U.S. up to 40% of work schedule and proven track record of working remotely
