Nature and Scope

The Regional Account Manager—Sales is responsible for managing and growing sales within a specific geographic region. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with key clients, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets. The Regional Account Manager works closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, customer support, and product development, to ensure customer satisfaction and drive revenue growth.


Roles and Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Territory Management:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets within the assigned region.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting, cold calling, networking, and building relationships with potential clients.
  • Manage and grow existing accounts, ensuring customer retention, satisfaction, and upsell opportunities.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within customer organizations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular meetings, presentations, and business reviews with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions aligned with their goals.

Sales Target Achievement:

  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and quotas for the region.
  • Prepare and deliver sales forecasts, reports, and updates to senior management, providing insights into market trends and opportunities.
  • Work closely with the sales leadership team to develop pricing strategies, proposals, and contracts tailored to each client's needs.

New Business Development:

  • Identify new business opportunities within the region, including potential partnerships and cross-selling/up-selling opportunities.
  • Create and present tailored sales presentations and proposals that demonstrate the value of the company’s products and services.
  • Stay up to date on market trends, competitors, and industry developments to identify potential areas of growth and differentiation.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute regional marketing campaigns that support lead generation and customer       engagement.
  • Work closely with product development teams to provide customer feedback and insights for product enhancements and new product development.
  • Partner with customer support teams to ensure seamless onboarding, training, and post-sales support for new and existing clients.

Pipeline & CRM Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and account updates in the company’s CRM system (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Regularly update the sales pipeline, ensuring that leads are appropriately qualified, tracked, and managed throughout the sales cycle.
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports to the sales leadership team.

Market Research & Competitor Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers, understand industry challenges, and anticipate market trends.
  • Monitor competitor activities within the region and provide insights to the sales team on competitive positioning and opportunities for growth.
  • Use market data and customer feedback to adjust sales strategies and recommend new approaches for client engagement.
Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree or relevant certifications in sales management is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development, preferably within a regional or territory-based role.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing relationships with key accounts.
  • Experience working with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales analytics software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients at all levels.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey the value of products and services.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data and market research to inform sales strategies and decisions.
