With a strong commitment to creativity, innovation, and storytelling, we are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to help manage the financial operations that support our fast-paced, creative environment.

Job Summary:

The Bookkeeper / Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions including maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with budget tracking and reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a media, entertainment, or production environment and understand the unique financial workflows in creative industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process

Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and digital payment platforms (e.g., Stripe, PayPal)

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable

Manage invoicing for clients and vendors, including media campaign billing and production costs

Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and reports

Track project-based budgets, production expenses, and freelance payments

Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including 1099 filings

Support payroll processing and benefits reconciliation

Maintain and organize digital financial records

Collaborate with production and sales teams to track expenses and revenue related to specific projects or media campaigns

Assist with annual audits and tax preparations

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in media, entertainment, or agency environments

Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite)

Strong knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets

Understanding of accrual and cash-based accounting

Experience with project/job costing and expense tracking

Knowledge of payroll systems and basic HR compliance is a plus

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Experience:

Familiarity with advertising, publishing, or video production financial workflows

Experience with tools like Airtable, Trello, or Asana for project tracking

Understanding of revenue recognition in media sales and licensing
