The Clear Spring Property & Casualty finance team is looking to add an FP&A Analyst. You will collaborate with experienced accounting and finance professionals, receive one-on-one mentorship while gaining more hands on experience preparing monthly P&L (actual versus plan forecast)

You'll utilize your strong communication skills and ability to analyze complex financial data to identify trends and insights. In this role you will report to a Senior Financial Analyst and collaborate across the organization to develop an annual 3-year plan including quarterly forecasts, by major program for Board of Directors, Senior Management, and AM Best

We will leverage your variance analysis skills where you are responsible to complete monthly P&L by program (actual versus plan forecast) and use your analytical skills to breakdown the performance into key drivers as earned premium, expenses, losses, and new business.


You will develop explanations of variances to expected results to report to the CFO of Clear Spring Property & Casualty. Daily you'll perform ongoing monthly monitoring of service providers and expense charges for compliance assurance with the contract terms.

As you integrate into the financial planning and analysis team, you'll gain understanding of the economics within each program and analyze the profitability of each relationship.

You will have successfully achieved the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required
  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting and finance experience in the insurance industry ideally with property casualty.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency building financial models
  • Experience with Workday Financials is a plus
  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as this position interacts with numerous departments within the company
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Perform duties under deadline pressure with multi‐tasking capabilities
  • Perform effectively when changes in priorities, direction and resources occur
  • This is a fully remote position and requires travel one week per quarter for meetings.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $80,000/year in the lowest market up $105,000/year in our highest geographic market.  Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
