Key Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
 

The Power Platform Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting low-code/no-code applications using Microsoft’s Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, and SharePoint). The role will focus on building scalable digital tools that support Disaster Management operations and business processes across World Vision’s field programs.

This role will work closely with product managers, business analysts, field users, and technical architects to translate business needs into intuitive, functional applications. The Power Platform Developer will also play a critical role in optimizing existing solutions, maintaining data integrity, integrating with other systems (e.g., LMMS, SMAP, OIOS), and supporting business continuity in humanitarian emergency contexts.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

APPLICATION DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT:

  • Design, configure, and deploy Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Power BI dashboards to digitize field workflows and data processes.

REQUIREMENTS TRANSLATION:

  • Work with Disaster Management business stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them into functional app specifications.

INTEGRATIONS:

  • Support integration with other internal systems and APIs (e.g., LMMS, iMPAQ, external REST services as needed).

SUPPORT & MAINTENANCE:

  • Provide second and third-line support for deployed apps; troubleshoot bugs and performance issues.

TESTING & QUALITY ASSURANCE:

  • Conduct end-to-end testing, support user acceptance testing (UAT), and implement automated testing where feasible.

DOCUMENTATION:

  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and user guides for all applications and flows.

TRAINING & HANDOVER:

  • Support user training and onboarding activities, especially in low-connectivity or emergency field contexts.

PLATFORM GOVERNANCE:

  • Work within IT security and governance frameworks for Power Platform; enforce DLP policies and access controls.

INNOVATION & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:

  • Recommend enhancements and explore new features (e.g., AI Builder, Copilot) that can improve emergency operations.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related technical field.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in application development.
  • At least 2 years of experience building and maintaining Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Power BI dashboards.
  • Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online, Dataverse, and Teams integration.
  • Strong understanding of relational data structures, JSON, REST APIs, and UI/UX principles.
  • Knowledge of Azure Active Directory, role-based access control (RBAC), and Power Platform security.
  • Experience supporting applications in low-connectivity, humanitarian field settings.
  • Microsoft certifications in Power Platform (e.g., PL-400).
  • Experience with ALM, solution packaging, GitHub integration, and the Center of Excellence (CoE) toolkit.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian systems such as LMMS, SMAP, KoBo, CommCare.
