Location: Saskatchewan Preferred | Remote within Western Canada Considered
Employment Type: Full-Time | Equity/Partner Track

About the Opportunity

Yorktown Search Partners has been exclusively retained by a private merchant banking group to recruit a Managing Partner for a newly acquired, licensed, multi-jurisdictional wealth advisory platform with over $250 million in Assets Under Administration (AUA). The platform is MFDA-licensed and insurance-licensed across AB, SK, and MB, with a team of high-performing advisors and a strong administrative infrastructure.

This is a partner-track opportunity for a licensed executive to lead the transition, operational management, and national expansion of this private wealth platform. You will have the support of a fully built back-office, compliance team, and the legal infrastructure of one of Canadas most innovative merchant banking groups.

Your Role

As Managing Partner Wealth Advisory & Distribution, you will take on day-to-day operational leadership of the advisory business. Youll ensure full regulatory compliance (MFDA + LLQP), drive advisor engagement and recruitment, and collaborate closely with the firm's exempt market team to structure new investment solutions.

This is a rare opportunity to take equity ownership in a platform backed by significant infrastructure and national ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full transition and operational integration of a $250M AUA platform
  • Oversee MFDA and LLQP compliance functions across SK, AB, and MB
  • Retain and optimize the performance of the advisor and administrative teams
  • Develop and execute a national advisor recruitment and growth strategy
  • Collaborate with the exempt market dealer team to integrate structured products and alternatives
  • Drive automation and modernization of onboarding, CRM, and suitability systems
  • Represent the platform in conversations with regulators, carriers, and dealer partners

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Currently licensed (or license-eligible) under MFDA, with active LLQP certification
  • 10+ years experience in wealth management, distribution leadership, or platform operations
  • Proven track record in managing or integrating advisor teams, books of business, or MGAs
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership presence with a strategic growth mindset
  • Demonstrated success in advisor recruitment, compliance oversight, and operational scalability
  • Prior experience building platforms through acquisition or structured roll-up preferred

Whats Offered

  • Leadership of a high-growth $250M wealth platform
  • Equity participation and performance-based compensation
  • Full back-office, legal, and compliance support
  • A national roadmap to build Canadas next-generation private wealth platform
  • Strategic positioning within one of Canadas most ambitious merchant banking groups
