Position Summary & Scope
Reporting to the Vice President of Performance Solutions, the Pharma Sales Development Manager will play a significant role in driving the Vantage strategy for specialty chemical ingredients into the Pharmaceutical and OTC regulated markets. This includes developing and executing key strategic account plans for our Performance Solutions business while also developing new business growth that aligns with the long-term vision and strategy of the organization. This role will not have direct reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Calls: Engage prospective customers independently and as joint-calls with our Vantage colleagues; driving customer-needs-driven conversations to steer Innovation pipeline and customer projects
Develop account plans aligned with the Business Unit’s annual business plan and long-term strategic plan. Deliver budgeted sales through fostering existing relationships and developing new prospects.
Find and develop new leads for Active and Excipient ingredients in market segments of Rx and OTC markets including specialty skin care, wound care, oral care, optical care, medicinal inerts, and other specialty applications.
Bring the voice of customers to other stakeholders within the business, i.e., R&D, Project Management, Supply Chain; and stay on top of trends to drive the business.
Coordination and ownership of key assigned accounts across VPS with key Vantage commercial resources in Sales, Marketing, and Product Management.
Develop market sizing and trend analytics and generate information on customer needs, their pipeline, value requirements, competitive information, and benchmarking to guide new product and business development.
Establish and cultivate relationships with Performance Solutions / specialty industry community, associations, and key opinion leaders to support business development efforts.
Develop deep understanding of the focus growth markets, including market research, to determine market attractiveness, key trends, and drive Vantage’s path forward.
Industry events & trade-show attendance / leadership within industry.
Utilize CRM to write customer call reports, document and foster opportunities, maintain key customer information, and prioritize accounts as part of a process focused sales development.
Provide feedback to the appropriate business functions regarding product performance, new customer or product opportunities and competitive intelligence including pricing data.

Education & Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or engineering, business, or marketing with a strong understanding of the regulated USP-NF ingredients Specialty Chemicals space.
Experience:
5+ years’ experience in customer / market facing roles, driving specialty chemicals growth in USP-NF pharmaceutical applications.
Demonstrated experience driving successful new business growth in Pharma applications, managing multiple accounts, with the ability to understand needs, develop long-term plans, identify opportunities and win new business.
Experience negotiating contracts and pricing agreements.
Experience preparing and delivering presentations to customer groups and for various levels of company leadership.
Experience driving Key Performance Indicators
Experience using CRM systems, Outlook and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking, and presentation skills.
Well-versed in using CRM tools for management of your sales territory, internal/external communication via email/instant messaging, as a tool for sales analysis, and for visual aids for sales presentations.
Working Conditions
Remote role; Willing and able to travel 25% - 50% of the time.
Pay and Benefits
The estimated base pay range for this position is: $120,000 - $180,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, qualifications, skills and geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive program.
