Job description

Our North America Inside Sales Team is hiring for Inside Sales Representatives! Our representatives support our veterinary customer base by receiving inbound calls and emails related to instrument consumables and supporting services. In this role you will serve the customers immediate need, uncover additional information and present relevant IDEXX differentiated solutions and services. You’ll spend most of your 8-hour shift in a busy phone queue, primarily supporting our customers through inbound calls. While there may be occasional email work, this is a call-focused position where being available and engaged on the phone is essential.

This isn’t a basic order-entry role—while order processing is a small part of the job, the real focus is on having meaningful, discovery-based conversations with busy Veterinary clinics. You’ll be required to ask open-ended questions that uncover needs, clarify concerns, and help guide the conversation toward the best differentiated solutions. Curiosity, active listening, and strong communication skills are critical to success in this consultative sales role. 

The start of training for these openings will be August 18th, 2025.

In the role of Inside Sales Representative:

-You will fulfill customer orders for diagnostic products and supplies through multiple channels including phone, fax, & email.

-You will establish credibility among our domestic veterinary customers and use discovery to make recommendations for additional products and services.

-You will answer questions in regard to ordering products, shipping inquiries and IDEXX online platforms.

-You will use Salesforce.com to maintain accurate customer profiles and interactions.

-You will provide an outstanding customer experience.

-You will be part of a phone queue receiving inbound calls and emails for a majority of your day. Other duties and responsibilities would include attending trainings, coaching sessions and individual development time.

What you need to succeed?

-Sales, customer service and/or customer facing experience. 

-Prior phone experience preferred.

-Strong communication skills including written and verbal; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport quickly.

-Capability to absorb and articulate technical information.

-Highly motivated and goal-oriented, while working collaboratively for team success.

-Strong organizational skills, especially in a multi-tasking environment.

-Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

-Computer proficiency (Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook).

-Understanding of the veterinary diagnostic market and experience in healthcare or scientific industry is a plus.

-Bachelor’s degree in a business or scientific discipline is a plus.

-The career progression within this team includes moving to a regionally aligned outbound inside sales role. In that role you will align by territory with the field sales team to retain, acquire and grow account base.

What you can expect from us: 

  • Hourly rate of $21/hr+ based on experience & shift-differential pay offered for later shifts

Schedule:

This role requires schedule flexibility, with the ability to work 8.5 hours between the hours of 7:30 AM and 9:00 PM EST Monday-Friday. A monthly Saturday shifts (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST), on a rotating basis. Seniority based schedule preferences are considered, based on business need and availability. Shift-differential pay offered for later shifts.

Internet Requirements and Equipment:

*When working from your virtual office, you are required to be available by telephone, voicemail, email, and Teams Microsoft messaging during your scheduled business hours.  A high-speed hardwired internet connection (minimum 15 Mbps download; 3 Mbps upload) must be maintained.  You will be supplied with a laptop, docking station, monitor(s), and headset, which will need to be maintained appropriately.
