The Role

As an Institutional Partnerships Account Development Specialist, you’ll play a key role in strengthening relationships with our university, library, and research institution partners. Through exceptional account management and a deep understanding of scholarly communication, you’ll help advance Open Access publishing while delivering value and continuity for our partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for a portfolio of institutional partners
  • Manage onboarding, renewals, reporting, and relationship growth independently
  • Prepare proposals and quotes using internal datasets and analysis
  • Identify upsell opportunities using usage trends and engagement data
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting and eligibility verification
  • Maintain clean, up-to-date records in CRM and internal tools
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Product, Publishing Partnerships, Finance)
  • Help develop and maintain SOPs, templates, toolkits, and reporting resources
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance partner experience
  • Respond to internal and external queries and co-manage shared inbox

 

About You

  • 1+ years’ experience in account management, customer support, or institutional partnerships
  • Background in scholarly publishing, Open Access, or university libraries is highly desirable
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Fluent in English and Italian (written and spoken)
  • Confident using CRM systems (Salesforce), project management tools (Jira, Confluence), and reporting platforms (Tableau, Excel)
  • Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with strong time and project management skills
  • Comfortable analyzing data, identifying trends, and reporting insights to stakeholders
  • Passionate about Open Science and improving the research ecosystem
