Overview:

The Sentara CDI Team is expanding! This summer we will implement Aware CDI by Iodine. We are seeking to expand our team with a CDI Auditor, preferably  with 3 years+ CDI experience.  Iodine experience is a plus!

Responsible for improving overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation of patient records to ensure that concurrent process is compliant and effective. This includes concurrent reviews, discharge audits, random audit samples, and targeted audits. Works collaboratively with the CDI team to ensure clinical information in the medical record is present and accurate to support that appropriate clinical severity is captured for the level of service rendered to all patients. Works to provide supplemental education to physicians, CDS, and coding staff.
 

Education
  • Associate Degree Applied Science RN , Diploma RN or
  • 4 year RN BSN

Certification/Licensure
  • CCDS or CDIP Certification required or obtained within the first six (6) months

Experience
  • Minimum three (3) years recent CDS experience
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Expertise in knowledge of MS-DRGs and ICD-10
