We are seeking an experienced and strategic professional to lead national account management efforts in support of ICF’s residential energy efficiency utility programs, which incentivize customers to purchase and install energy efficient products. This high-impact role involves overseeing utility client engagement, driving program success, and managing key partnerships with top-tier retailers and manufacturers—many of which are Fortune 100 companies.
The National Account Manager will be responsible for the strategic direction, execution, and continuous improvement of national energy efficiency initiatives. You will coordinate across all ICF program teams to serve as a key interface between ICF’s utility clients and their market-facing retailer and manufacturing partners, ensuring delivery of high-quality, data-driven solutions. In this leadership role, you will influence and guide program development, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment with evolving utility priorities, industry standards, and regulatory landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the national account strategy across residential utility programs, ensuring alignment with client objectives and energy efficiency goals.
Collaborate with internal ICF program teams to ensure timely execution, cross-functional alignment, knowledge sharing, and delivery of high-quality services and products.
Cultivate and manage senior-level relationships with manufacturers, retailers, and utility stakeholders to maximize program reach and impact.
Oversee the implementation of complex, multi-channel programs nationally, ensuring excellence in communications, coordination, execution, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
Drive innovation and efficiency in program delivery by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance performance metrics.
Provide strategic insight and market intelligence to ICF teams to guide program design and continuous improvement.
Represent ICF at industry events and with partners and client teams to communicate results, trends, and best practices.
Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in business, engineering, environmental studies, or related field.
3+ years of professional experience in utility programs, energy efficiency, account management, or related consulting environments.

Organizational Excellence: Strong organizational and operational skills with a track record of streamlining processes, enhancing program efficiency, and managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities simultaneously.
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships at all organizational levels, including utility executives, vendor partners, and internal leadership, to ensure alignment and sustained engagement.
Executive Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence internal teams, external clients, and leadership staff at utilities, retail, and manufacturers.
Analytical Problem Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities, with experience identifying performance gaps, anticipating market challenges, and delivering innovative, data-driven solutions.
Location: This role is open to remote candidates nationwide with preference to those within the Eastern and Central Time Zones to best support our clients.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
