About the Role

We’re hiring an experienced Account Executive to join our Employee Benefits / Student Insurance Group. You’ll oversee a portfolio of clients—primarily in the education and public sector space—while independently driving client service, renewals, upselling, and new business. This role requires strong industry knowledge, confidence in managing client-facing strategy, and the ability to execute and lead across all levels of service delivery.

This position involves travel up to 25% for client meetings and business needs.

What You’ll Do

Book Management & Sales Growth

  • Sell and renew a book of business of approximately $1.25 million in revenue

  • Upsell and cross-sell additional products to existing clients

  • Identify growth opportunities within current accounts to expand service offerings

  • Pursue new business opportunities independently through networking, referrals, and outreach

Client Strategy & Service Delivery

  • Lead the overall case strategy for each account

  • Manage day-to-day client activities, including escalated issues, and prioritize resolution effectively

  • Guide clients through annual renewals, open enrollment planning, compliance updates, and program enhancements

  • Provide benefit consultation, legislative updates, and market intelligence

  • Maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients and carrier partners

Operational Management

  • Oversee the invoicing and implementation process to ensure smooth onboarding and billing accuracy

  • Coordinate with internal teams (Account Managers, Analysts, and Operations) to ensure deliverables are timely and accurate

  • Maintain CRM and agency management systems with all client interactions and activity documented

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Employee Benefits account management or consulting, preferably within a retail insurance brokerage

  • Proven ability to manage large groups, complex benefit structures, and varied funding strategies

  • Licensed in California for Life & Health insurance (or willing to obtain within 30 days)

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • CEBS, RHU, or similar designation is a plus

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Strategic thinking with a client-first approach

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and escalated issues under tight deadlines

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and benefits platforms like Ease or Employee Navigator

  • Familiarity with Salesforce and AMS360 preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $95,000 – $115,000 + bonus

  • Full-time, hybrid schedule (Woodland Hills preferred)
