About the Role
We’re hiring an experienced Account Executive to join our Employee Benefits / Student Insurance Group. You’ll oversee a portfolio of clients—primarily in the education and public sector space—while independently driving client service, renewals, upselling, and new business. This role requires strong industry knowledge, confidence in managing client-facing strategy, and the ability to execute and lead across all levels of service delivery.
This position involves travel up to 25% for client meetings and business needs.
What You’ll Do
Book Management & Sales Growth
Sell and renew a book of business of approximately $1.25 million in revenue
Upsell and cross-sell additional products to existing clients
Identify growth opportunities within current accounts to expand service offerings
Pursue new business opportunities independently through networking, referrals, and outreach
Client Strategy & Service Delivery
Lead the overall case strategy for each account
Manage day-to-day client activities, including escalated issues, and prioritize resolution effectively
Guide clients through annual renewals, open enrollment planning, compliance updates, and program enhancements
Provide benefit consultation, legislative updates, and market intelligence
Maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients and carrier partners
Operational Management
Oversee the invoicing and implementation process to ensure smooth onboarding and billing accuracy
Coordinate with internal teams (Account Managers, Analysts, and Operations) to ensure deliverables are timely and accurate
Maintain CRM and agency management systems with all client interactions and activity documented
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in Employee Benefits account management or consulting, preferably within a retail insurance brokerage
Proven ability to manage large groups, complex benefit structures, and varied funding strategies
Licensed in California for Life & Health insurance (or willing to obtain within 30 days)
Bachelor’s degree preferred
CEBS, RHU, or similar designation is a plus
Skills & Competencies
Strong written and verbal communication
Strategic thinking with a client-first approach
Ability to manage multiple priorities and escalated issues under tight deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and benefits platforms like Ease or Employee Navigator
Familiarity with Salesforce and AMS360 preferred
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $95,000 – $115,000 + bonus
Full-time, hybrid schedule (Woodland Hills preferred)
