The American College of Radiology (ACR) is looking for a Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources team. This position will join a collaborative and mission-driven team with a strong commitment to employee well-being and development. At ACR, the Benefits Specialist is instrumental and essential in the administration of all employee benefits and leave programs. The Benefits Specialist will be the point person in the implementation, compliance, and communication of benefits-related policies and programs, acting as the primary contact for employees and external benefits partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle the day-to-day administration employee benefits, including group medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and wellness programs.
  • Primary point of contact for employee benefit questions.  Provide guidance and support to employees to assist them with understanding their options making informed decisions. 
  • Lead the implementation and communication of benefits-related policies, programs, and procedures. Serve as the primary contact for external benefits consultants, brokers, and service providers.
  • Monitor and resolve issues related to HRIS benefit data and carrier file feeds; ensure accurate and timely processing of benefit invoices.
  • Conduct new hire benefits orientations and ensure timely benefits enrollment.
  • Administer leave of absence programs including FMLA, short-term and long-term disability, parental leave, workers’ compensation, and state-specific leave policies.
  • Ensure benefits compliance and timely submission of all required reporting, including support for annual audits. Distribute legally required benefits documentation such as Summary Plan Descriptions, Certificates of Benefits, and 1095-C forms. Maintain ACR’s benefits-related policies to comply with HIPAA and state-specific regulations.
  • Promote and support employee wellness initiatives through education and engagement activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; HR certification (e.g., PHR/SPHR, HRCI, or CEBS) strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience administering employee benefits, ideally in an organization with fewer than 1,000 employees.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations including ERISA, Section 125, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, Medicare Part D, FMLA and ADA.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.

This position will work a Remote schedule with the expectation of coming into HQ up to 4 times/year. While working a Remote schedule, qualified candidates must be able to maintain a schedule of working 8:30 - 5:00P.  When working remotely, workers must be self-motivated, possess excellent time management, and be highly organized.  Reliable internet connection is a must!

ACR is committed to a total rewards compensation philosophy that includes base salary in addition to our full suite of comprehensive benefits (https://www.acr.org/-/media/ACR/NOINDEX/HR/ACR-Benefits-Overview.pdf).  ACR’s goal is to pay competitively and equitably.  It is typical for individuals to be hired in the entry to middle of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on each case’s circumstances.  A reasonable estimate of the annual compensation range for this position is $71,600 – $95,500.
