Wild Alaskan Company’s mission is to accelerate humanity’s transition to sustainable food systems by fostering meaningful, interconnected relationships between human beings, wild seafood and the planet.

We deliver wild-caught, sustainable seafood to households across the United States. Powered by our custom-built eCommerce platform and three generations of history and expertise in the Alaskan fishing industry, we constantly strive to meet our promise of a top-notch product and experience. And we do it all in a fully-remote environment that is fast-paced, challenging, and fun.

What to Expect

We’re looking for a highly adaptable, experienced FSQS Manager to manage our food safety and quality programs with a deep understanding of Alaska seafood operations, GFSI standards, and remote operational dynamics. This role will own the development and execution of our food safety systems, sustainability compliance, and third-party certifications (e.g., SQF, BRC,CSC, MSC).

If you’re energized by wearing many hats, enjoy solving complex food safety challenges across supply chains, and thrive in a fast-paced remote setting — this role is for you.

Everyday, you will strive to develop more structure centered around creating the best and safest experience for our Wild Alaskan teammates and members.

What You'll Do

You are an organized self-starter looking to join a dynamic food safety team focusing on direct-to-consumer food safety programs supporting Wild Alaskan Company. You are a grounded problem solver that can visualize and effectively implement food safety programs throughout the organization and with suppliers and partners. You get the job done expeditiously ensuring the safest, highest-quality, wild-caught, sustainable seafood is delivered to Wild Alaskan members and commerce throughout the supply chain.

Your Day-to-Day
Food Safety & Quality Systems
  • Own and improve our Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS) across custom processors, distribution and seasonal operations.
  • Lead and maintain GFSI certification (e.g., SQF or BRCGS) and ensure continuous audit readiness.
  • Manage seafood-specific HACCP plans for raw, cooked, frozen, and value-added products.
  • Partner with operations teams (in Washington, Alaska and 3PLs) to ensure GMP, sanitation, allergen, and food defense programs are followed.
Alaska Operations & Sustainability Compliance
  • Ensure all Alaska-based production aligns with Wild Alaskans quality and sustainability guidelines.
  • Maintain traceability and chain-of-custody documentation from vessel to consumer.
  • Coordinate with seasonal teams on documentation, inspections, and in-region training.
Training, Culture & Oversight
  • Deliver engaging remote training on HACCP, GMPs, allergen controls, and seafood safety risks (e.g., histamine, parasites, Listeria).
  • Foster a culture of quality and safety in a distributed, digital-first organization.
  • Provide rapid support to cross-functional teams (Ops, Marketing, Member Experience, among others) regarding food safety and quality concerns.
Regulatory & Consumer Protection
  • Supporting role - FDA, USDA, state regulators, and third-party certifiers.
  • Support compliance with FSMA and any emerging regulations affecting seafood and DTC foods.
  • Support product labeling, specifications, and recall plans.
