We are dedicated to providing great online shopping experiences and are now looking for a Business Controller, reporting to the Finance team, to join us on this journey for our two Nordic marketplaces: CDON and Fyndiq.

About the Role

Are you an analytical and proactive individual with a passion for transforming numbers into strategic insights? Do you thrive on owning and driving financial planning processes and taking responsibility for the production of financial reports? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As our Business Controller, you will play a key role in driving the company's financial planning, forecasting, and reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closing/annual reports. You will work closely with the CFO, Head of Accounting, and senior stakeholders across the organization to ensure financial control and support business decisions. An important part of the role is to own and develop our forecasting and follow-up process and related tools, in close collaboration with key stakeholders, including our Commercial Analyst.

Responsibilities Include

Financial Reporting and Closing:

  • Take responsibility for and produce monthly, quarterly, and annual closings/annual reports.
  • Analyze the company's financial performance against budget, forecast, and previous periods.
  • Identify and communicate deviations, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards for management and the Board.

Ownership of Forecast and Follow-up Process:

  • Lead, develop, and own the company's forecast processes, including models and system support.
  • Ensure data quality and reliability in forecasts and budgets.
  • Consolidate and analyze forecast input from various parts of the organization.
  • Run monthly deviation meetings with stakeholders

Business Partnering and Decision Support:

  • Act as a financial business partner and advisor to various departments, supporting with financial expertise and insights.
  • Contribute with financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.

Process and Tool Development:

  • Continuously develop and improve processes, methods, and tools for financial planning, reporting, and follow-up to maximize efficiency.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the Commercial Analyst to integrate commercial insights and drivers into financial forecasts.
  • Collaborate with Business developer around development of business cases and analysis

Ad-hoc Analysis and IR Support:

  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to answer specific business questions and support strategic projects.
  • Provide ongoing support in financial communication to the market and investors, including materials for external reports and presentations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • University degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience from a similar role as a Business Controller, or Financial Controller with responsibility for financial planning and reporting.
  • Background from Audit or transactional services at Big-4 is meritorious
  • Documented experience in owning and driving budget and forecast processes, as well as independently preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual closings/annual reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and experience in financial modeling.
  • Experience with BI platforms (Tableau and Steep) and ERP systems (Netsuite) is meritorious.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey financial information to various stakeholders.
  • Fluent in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Structured, thorough, proactive, and enjoys improving processes to maximize efficiency.
