The Human Resources (HR) Director position is responsible for all HR process, systems, and policy impacting agency personnel.  The HR Director provides oversight and direction to a team of five staff handling employee relations, recruitment and selection, training, regulatory compliance, benefits, compensation, performance management, HR policy, and HRIS management.  This position reports directly to the CFOO.

 

 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organizational goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting and retention.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring.
  • Align internal HR resources to serve staff.
  • Maintain and manage vendor relations with unemployment, risk management, benefits and other outsourced service providers.
  • Maintain HR best practices impacting employee relations.
  • Manage worker’s compensation claims process.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with all applicable local, state and federal employment laws and licensure requirements.
  • Mentors and provides coaching to direct reports and agency staff.
  • Ensure consistency between HRIS system, ADP, and employee records.
  • Maintains strategic delivery of HR services to include crisis management impacting staff.
  • Facilitates professional development opportunities and training for staff.
  • Improves HR processes and procedures to keep up with changes in applicable policies and employment laws.
  • Tracking and approval of all annual performance reviews.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Minimal physical effort required 

 

    Working Conditions

  • May work remote up to 20% of time.
  • General office environment majority of the time.
  • Minimal travel may be required.

 

Education/Experience/Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human resources, business, organizational design or related degree.
  • Five or more years of HR director level experience including managing HR staff and processes.
  • Certified professional designation preferred, SPHR, or SHRM – SCP.
  • All candidates must have or qualify to obtain a current Colorado driver’s license (Must obtain license within 30 days of employment)
  • All positions require criminal CBI background check, FBI fingerprint check, State of CO child abuse check, DMV driving record check, pre-employment drug test, pre-employment physical, academic credential verification, and reference check.
