What we are looking for:

Aleto Inc. is seeking to hire a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to support a variety of accounting functions beyond traditional Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks. This role requires a well-rounded bookkeeping professional proficient in QuickBooks Online, with a solid understanding of the monthly close process, journal entries, labor cost allocation, and inventory accounting, particularly using Work in Process (WIP) methodologies. Strong analytical abilities, Excel skills, and effective communication are essential for success in this role.

Interview Process

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
 

Duties include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks in QuickBooks Online, including recording and reconciling AP and AR transactions.
  • Support the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post labor cost distribution journal entries from payroll data to the general ledger.
  • Manage revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and accounting standards.
  • Monitor and report on Work in Process (WIP) Inventory for tracking inventory items in production or resale status.
  • Analyze financial data and support management with reports and insights as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and communicate effectively to resolve discrepancies and ensure the timely processing of financial data.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting audits or financial reviews as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional AP/AR, journal entries, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with labor cost allocations and payroll-to-GL entries.
  • Understanding of revenue recognition principles and WIP Inventory accounting.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data analysis).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and self-motivated.

Technological Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with electronic payment processing and collections strategies.
  • Background in supporting small to mid-sized businesses.
  • Familiarity with other accounting or inventory management systems is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Google Workspace.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Environment and Physical Conditions 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time, move inside and around an office, position themself to access items located in high or low areas, and transport items weighing up to 20 pounds across the office. Requires the constant operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, and the ability to observe details at a close range, typically within a few feet of the observer.  The employee interacts frequently with other workers, vendors, and clients and must communicate information and ideas so others will understand, and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The position consistently requires work to be completed in an office environment with artificial light and air.
