Job description

Responsible for assisting in the implementation of all sales planning operations and marketing activities as well as other duties as assigned. Provides analytical support to sales and varietal management including gathering of data and the preparation of sales reports and supply and demand forecasts. Responsible for assisting in pricing decisions and collating information and creating reports on sales, supply, demand, key competitor activity, “what if” scenarios, and others

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assists management in the implementation of all sales planning operations and marketing activities as well as other duties as assigned. 
  • Ensures that management is kept up to date on business situation for pre-determined projects and activities. 
  • Assists management in developing annual sales and marketing plans ensuring they deliver overall category and business objectives
  • Provides analytical support to sales planning operations management including gathering of data and the preparation of sales reports and supply and demand forecasts. 
  • Assists in collating information and creating reports on sales, supply, demand, key competitor activity, “what if” scenarios, and others. 
  • Collates information from internal and external teams that is required for marketing activity. Develops decision models and spreadsheets outlining daily/weekly/seasonal crop information in conjunction with Sales Operations.
  • Assists in negotiating and setting all pricing for both short and long term programs
  • Monitors all aspects of distribution including packinghouse equity, sales activity, field production, packing, warehousing and inventory management, market conditions and competitive pricing.
  • Assists with new packaging and new pack code requests
  • Assist management in all administrative matters pertaining to the Domestic and/or International Marketing functions, exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Maintains archive of relevant communications materials. 
  • Implements ad hoc category projects as agreed with management.
  • Performs other related duties and projects assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Additional tasks as assigned by management. 
  • Attends and presents in meetings as requested.

Minimum Educational and Experience Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 Experience in a complex analytical role or management position, including forecasting experience (Fresh food and/or produce experience preferred).
  • Bachelor's preferred Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business, Food Marketing, Finance or related field or equivalent.
  • Possess working knowledge of the integral relationship between the sales, supply, and marketing functions.        
  • Ability to be highly proficient in Excel, Power Point, Power BI reports, and Prophet (internal ERP). 
  • Ability to prepare presentations and other materials for a high executive level.   
  • Ability to effectively work simultaneously on many priorities, which change frequently. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with several levels of staff and external contacts, both in writing and verbally.        
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet firm deadlines and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to utilize discretion and exercise good judgement in making pricing decisions.
