Job description

This is a remote position.


Job Title: Production Designer 

Reports to: Creative Director
Location: Remote

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9AM to 6PM Pacific with 1 hour unpaid break
About the Role

We’re seeking a highly reliable and detail-focused Production Designer to support the layout, composition, and production of our books, games, and gift products. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on clean files, tight specs, and precise execution. You’ll work on a variety of titles across categories and help bring our books to life in their final stages.

Responsibilities
  • Apply final layouts, text styling, and formatting to interior book files (InDesign)

  • Prepare print-ready files for books, packaging, and other physical products

  • Execute corrections, reprints, and edition updates across multiple formats

  • Apply barcodes, pricing, and back cover adjustments as needed

  • Ensure all files meet printer specs and pass internal preflight checks

  • Collaborate with editorial and project management teams on production timelines

Requirements
  • 3+ years experience in production design or print layout for long-form documents (publishing preferred)

  • Advanced InDesign skills, including styles, master pages, and typesetting

  • Knowledge of prepress requirements and working with printer specs

  • Familiarity with various print formats (paperback, hardcover, packaging)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work across multiple titles simultaneously
