Job Captain - Architecture

Location: Hamilton, ON - Southwestern Ontario

Work Type: Hybrid (3 days home); Potentially remote for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of architects and designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
Design Leadership: Lead the design process for various architectural projects, ensuring innovative and high-quality design solutions.
Client Interaction: Work closely with clients to understand their needs and vision, presenting design concepts and providing updates throughout the project lifecycle.
Portfolio Development: Utilize and expand your design portfolio, showcasing a range of successful projects to attract new clients and business opportunities.
Technical Expertise: Apply advanced design principles, building codes, and construction methods to develop practical and aesthetically pleasing architectural solutions.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design and technical elements.
Quality Control: Conduct quality control reviews of design documents, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulations.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve design challenges that arise during project development and construction.
Site Visits: Perform site visits to monitor construction progress, address any issues, and ensure alignment with design intent.
Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on project status, design decisions, and any issues encountered, providing regular updates to senior management and clients.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of successful architectural projects.
Extensive experience in architectural design and project leadership.
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work hybrid (3 days home) with potential for remote work for the right candidate.
Preferably able to come to the office in Ottawa or Hamilton.
