Job Description

We are looking for a talented individual…​​

To join our team as an Energy Engineer III! You will be responsible for providing technical support to our commercial new construction energy efficiency programs. This person will have a strong understanding of building energy systems and can read building construction drawings and specifications. Knowledge of the design and construction process is helpful but not required. Energy modeling using software such as eQUEST, IES-VE and Energy Plus is highly desired.

Strong preference for candidates located in Oregon; other locations include Washington, Idaho, California, Nevada or Arizona.

  • Provide technical review of custom projects submitted with energy calculations and building energy simulations
  • Manage important and complex technical work independently and with minimal technical supervision
  • Communicate with the customer to obtain the information needed to complete calculations and reports
  • Assess and document new/revised energy efficiency measures, including authoring workpapers and Technical Resource Manual content
  • Provide support for program designs, including developing technical program offerings
  • Develop project scopes, with oversight from engineering management
  • Strengthen client satisfaction and develop client relationships. Participate in business development to find optimal technical solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to program teams related to subject matter expertise (esp. custom/M&V projects)
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineering staff.
  • Exercise in-depth knowledge, experience and independent judgment broadly across the energy efficiency industry
  • Identify and deliver on opportunities to improve our technical work products and processes

In this exciting career opportunity, you will have…

  • BS in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable professional experience
  • Preferred Certifications & Licenses – Professional Engineer, Building Energy Modeling Professional, and/or High-Performance Building Design Professional
  • Experience with energy simulation programs such as EnergyPlus and/or IES-VE or others
  • Knowledge of energy codes, new construction, and existing market baselines
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Target Compensation

$90,000-105,000

Compensation Range

$77,700.00 - $116,600.00
