We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Vice President of Global Technology Solutions focusing on R&D to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research, clinical development, regulatory affairs, and safety, with a particular focus on process excellence and leveraging technology and AI to drive advancements and automation in these areas.
This role will be pivotal in shaping the future of our R&D efforts and ensuring the successful integration of cutting-edge technology solutions. This role will collaborate closely with R&D leadership and report directly to the Chief Technology Officer.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Lead the technology strategy for the R&D department, aligning technology initiatives with research, clinical development, regulatory, and safety goals.
- Drive innovation in research by implementing advanced technology solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of research activities.
- Oversee the development and implementation of systems and solutions that support R&D activities, including data integration and management, analytics, and AI-driven insights.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of research data through robust data management and analytics platforms.
- Support research teams by providing tools and technologies that facilitate data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Focus on process optimization and automation to streamline R&D workflows, reduce manual tasks, and improve overall efficiency.
- Drive innovation in clinical development by implementing advanced solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical trials and studies.
- Enhance regulatory compliance by implementing solutions that ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations while optimizing and automating major workflows.
- Improve safety protocols using advanced technologies, including AI and machine learning, to predict and mitigate potential risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of the technology solutions into research, clinical development, regulatory and safety processes.
- Manage and mentor a team of technology professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of R&D advancements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders to enhance IT capabilities and support R&D initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PHD in Data Science or computer science with science background, PHD in Science with technology background, or a related field.
- 20+ years experience.
- Demonstrated experience within the Biotech/pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on R&D.
- Proven expertise and understanding of research, clinical development, regulatory affairs, and safety processes, workflows and analytics.
- Strong knowledge of AI technologies and their application in the Biotech industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with data management and analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: $285,200.00 - $375,200.00 annually

Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
