Job Summary

The Senior Business Development Manager/ Business Development Director - Cell Therapy Manufacturing (CDMO-West Coast) will be leading and coordinating manufacturing sales efforts in the Western North America geography representing Charles River’s development/manufacturing, manufacturing testing support and marketing initiatives in North America for Cellular Therapies, Plasmid DNA, and Viral Vector business units. The role will require coordinating with leadership and other sales team members across business units as well as product development teams to expand existing client revenue and close new business. The position will require coordination for proposal generation, technical support, site visits and key opinion leader relationships needed for business growth and to support overall marketing efforts.

 
The role will require the following:
 
•    Develop a sales strategy within the territory aligned with each business unit annual objectives
•    Work with executive team for forecasting, trends, revenue modeling and financial risk analysis of business opportunities
•    Collaboration with team members for cross selling to clients and prospects
•    Manage prospects and client within CRM and develop leads from Global Databases
•    Participate in North American and Global sales meetings
•    Assist team with trends, including competitive, market analysis in key areas of cell/gene and advanced therapeutic markets
•    Management of CRM leads and updates, and reporting up to management teams on activities within the territory
•    Develop a feedback cadence with internal team members such as SME’s and Project Management to help improve communication and success in the business
•    Travel when required for site visits, team meetings, conferences and other key events
•    Perform all other related duties as assigned.
 

Job Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:
 
•    The position requires at least 5 or more years (Senior Business Development Manager) and 10 or more years (Business Development Director) of biotech, healthcare or diagnostics experience with a focus, at least within the last 3 years (Senior Business Development Manager) and at least 5 years (Business Development Director) of sales and marketing with a specific focus in cell/gene therapies, regenerative medicine and/or advanced therapeutics.
•    Previous experience at mid to senior levels of sales and/or business development roles is highly desired and experience in small to medium sized sales and marketing efforts or high levels of collaboration with marketing would be highly valued.
•    Strong communications and facilitative leadership skills are expected.
•    Position requires experience in one or more of the following areas: cell therapy, gene therapy, regenerative medicine, biotechnology, diagnostics, or media, reagents and disposables or tools.
 
EDUCATION:
 
•    A Bachelor's Degree is required.
•    A graduate degree (MA, MBA, or other relevant field of study) is highly preferred for this position.

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $120K - 200K USD annually (depending on seniority). Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
