Cott Systems is looking for a Sales Account Executive to join our team in the Eastern region of the United States.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Cott Systems, Inc. is seeking a driven and coachable Sales Account Executive with deep GovTech experience to join our growing team. This is a remote, field-based role responsible for both new business development (hunter) within an established territory.

We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of long, complex sales cycles and a consultative approach to solution selling. The right candidate will be both a self-starter and a collaborative team player who thrives on exceeding goals and building trusted relationships with local and state government agencies.

This position offers the opportunity to make a major impact by introducing transformative technology to a highly targeted and engaged audience of government professionals.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

You will be the face of Cott Systems in your region—hunting new opportunities, nurturing relationships, managing existing accounts, and educating decision-makers on the value our technology brings to their organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the full sales cycle—from prospecting and demos to proposal development and close.
  • Cultivate new relationships and expand existing ones within city, county, and state government sectors.
  • Strategically manage your territory, prioritizing high-value prospects while maintaining strong ties with current customers.
  • Leverage your understanding of GovTech sales cycles and procurement processes to navigate and accelerate deals.
  • Partner with Marketing and internal teams to execute outreach strategies, campaigns, and events.
  • Represent Cott Systems at local conferences (4–5/year) and industry networking events.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of pipeline activity, forecast updates, and account insights.
  • Remain up-to-date on product developments, competitive landscape, and relevant legislation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless transition from sale to onboarding and ongoing support.

Requirements

REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of software/technology sales experience, with a strong preference for GovTech.
  • Proven ability to close complex, consultative sales with long decision cycles.
  • Experience selling enterprise content management (ECM), case management, or land records systems is a plus.
  • A mix of new business development (hunter) and account management (farmer) success stories.
  • A coachable mindset and a strong desire to learn, grow, and adapt.
  • The ability to absorb and translate software features into clear value propositions for government users.
  • High emotional intelligence, executive presence, and strong presentation skills.
  • Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong organizational skills and CRM discipline (Salesforce or equivalent).
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%, including local government conferences and client visits.
