Insurance Verification Specialist – Glen Burnie, MD

Full-Time | Schedule Options: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM

MedBridge Healthcare is seeking an Insurance Verification Specialist, for our ReactDX division, to join our growing team in Glen Burnie, MD. The ideal candidate will have at least 1–2 years of insurance verification and a strong understanding of billing and insurance terminology. The Insurance Verification Specialist will verify insurance benefits for patients by phone or website. Assist with getting Authorizations approved by insurance company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verifies all insurance coverage for upcoming patient appointments and determines patient's responsibility if applicable electronically and/or by phone.
  • Is knowledgeable about Medicare, Managed care, and Commercial plans.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures and standard operating procedures.
  • Attends meetings as required and works closely with colleagues, sharing new information with regards to insurance companies.
  • Other duties in relation to insurance verification as requested by the department manager and/or Director.
  • Enters all insurance information clearly and accurately into Software.
  • Obtains referral and or authorization prior to scheduled appointment.
  • Submitting Authorization as required and ensuring all applicable codes, and information required were submitted to the appropriate payer.
  • Assist with any coaching and trainings.

Qualification and Skills:

  • Effective communication skills, including verbal, written and telephone, and be proficient in mathematical skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task* Motivated, organized and a team-player with a positive attitude.
  • An excellent working knowledge of Excel and/or Microsoft office and Google Docs
  • This position requires a positive attitude and personable demeanor.
  • Insurance Verification and Web Portal knowledge
  • Prior Authorization Submission and Status Experience
  • Basic Medical Terminology and understanding

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Insurance Verification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Pre-Authorization

Schedule Options:

  • 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
  • 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
