Job description

Help us to increase the number of successful products in the world!
About PostHog and Why We're Hiring

PostHog is known for design. We've managed to build an awesome developer focused brand over the last 5 years, with hundreds of thousands of users, and a stream of adoring mentions all day every day on social media. As we're growing, we just have too many things to work on at once and we need more help!

We want to find a designer who loves working iteratively, quickly and reactively. If you want things meticulously planned out months in advance, or to fight developers in QA, this is not the role for you. We want someone scrappy who loves diving into important projects, taking ownership in them and collaborating between people to get stuff out the door on time! We've managed to iterate our way to high quality design rather than getting it all perfect in Figma up front instead.

As a business, we help developers build successful products by giving them a suite of products to analyze, test, observe, and deploy new features. We currently offer product and web analytics, session replay, feature flags, A/B testing, a CDP, SQL access, and a data warehouse… and there’s plenty more to come. We want to ship every single customer facing product that software teams need, collecting a perfect customer data record along the way, and automating everything with AI.

PostHog was created as an open-source project during Y Combinator's W20 cohort. We had the most successful B2B software launch on HackerNews since 2012 with a product that was just 4 weeks old. Since then, more than 175,000 companies have installed the platform. We've had huge success with our paid upgrades, raised many many millions from some of the world's top investors, and have been able to generate mid tens of millions of revenue from an all inbound, word-of-mouth driven approach.

We're growing quickly, but sustainably. We're also default alive, averaging 10% monthly revenue growth. We're staying focused on building an awesome product for end users, hiring a exceptional team members, and seeing fantastic growth as a result.

What you’ll be doing

If you already worked here, these are some of the projects you'd be working on

  • New product and feature launches: prepping annotated screenshots, email assets, ads, etc

  • Graphics for social media (posts, header images), changelog updates

  • Photo editing

  • Formatting and prepping billboard designs for print (resizing, bleed, CMYK conversion, file delivery)

  • Creating supporting visuals for blog posts, emails, and social — often by repurposing or lightly editing existing assets

  • Collaborating on ad creative — building variations, exporting for various platforms

  • Managing the process for our custom headshot illustrations (coordinating with our contract illustrator, adding to the website)

  • Designing posters and print material for events

  • Creating assets for new merch drops (mugs, tees, etc)

  • Overseeing sticker printing and quality control

  • Taking and improving product screenshots for the website and docs — including image cleanup, resizing, and annotations

  • Keeping our marketing visuals consistent and high quality across every channel

This might be for you if you...
  • Love design software but prefer executing over dreaming up new brand directions

  • Have strong attention to detail and can spot a 1px misalignment from a mile away

  • Are comfortable juggling lots of small tasks across different formats and tools

  • Know your way around RGB vs CMYK, print bleed, export settings, and image optimization

  • Can manage your own deadlines and aren’t afraid to nudge others for assets or information you need

Requirements
  • Extensive experience in Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator (bonus points if you also know your way around print shops or merch vendors)

  • Photo editing

  • Strongly preferred if you know your way around HTML and Markdown

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects, context switching, and last-minute changes!

Benefits

We believe people from diverse backgrounds, with different identities and experiences, make our product and our company better. That’s why we dedicated a page in our handbook to diversity and inclusion. No matter your background, we'd love to hear from you!

Also, if you have a disability, please let us know if there's any way we can make the interview process better for you - we're happy to accommodate!
