Position Overview:

The Associate, Non-Agency Business Development will be involved in strategic planning and operational execution, focusing on creating efficiencies to scale production and acquisition of non-agency mortgages.  The Associate, Non-Agency Business Development will collaborate with various departments to design workflows, streamline operations, and drive innovation.  This role conducts thorough post-mortem analyses and leverages feedback loops to foster a culture of continuous improvement.  In addition, this role researches and implements emerging technologies, ensuring CrossCountry remains at the forefront of operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, document, and implement workflows, policies, and processes to streamline operations, improve productivity, and increase the production and acquisition of non-agency mortgages.

  • Collaborate with department heads and stakeholders to analyze current workflows and processes across mortgage company departments (e.g., underwriting, processing, servicing) to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

  • Conduct post-mortem analyses on completed projects and transactions to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

  • Establish feedback loops to integrate insights from past performance into future workflows, fostering a state of constant improvement.

  • Track and measure the impact of implemented changes using data-driven approaches.

  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and tools that can enhance operational efficiency and improve workflows.

  • Partner with the technology team to lead the implementation of selected tools, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems.

  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in mortgage technology and operational platforms to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to provide stakeholders with clear insights into key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Use data to identify inefficiencies, prioritize initiatives, and recommend actionable solutions.

  • Engage with individuals at all organizational levels, from front-line staff to C-suite executives, to align priorities and drive consensus between the asset manager and mortgage company.

  • Present findings, recommendations, and progress updates in a clear and compelling manner tailored to the audience.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, operations, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or similar), preferred.

  • 2-4 years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, or project management, preferably within financial services, mortgage, or asset management industries.

  • Experience collaborating across operational departments (e.g., underwriting, processing, servicing) to implement solutions and achieve results.

  • Documented experience researching, implementing, and managing emerging technologies or operational tools.

  • High understanding of residential mortgage operations and workflow, with a focus on non-agency mortgage products.

  • Excellent analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, with proficiency in tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, or similar platforms.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and organizational levels from front-line staff to executive leadership.

  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional relationship building skills to influence stakeholders to achieve alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.

  • Skill in leveraging technology to solve complex problems and improve operational performance.

  • Skill in analyzing and connecting diverse components to deliver holistic, forward-thinking solutions.

Pay Range: 

  • Annual Salary: 125,000.00-150,000.00

The posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position
