Job Description

Overall purpose of the job:

  • Act as a technical lead, (Leadership) responsible for the design, delivery and handover of large and small IT consulting projects or programmes, relating to cloud and service transformation, primarily with a Microsoft Modern Workplace focus, but also including traditional on-premises Microsoft Windows servers and services. 
  • Work with product teams and third party vendors to transition new products and services into project delivery 
  • Work with other technical departments in order to train and build up the knowledge base for Cloud/IT services within Exponential-e Ltd 

Key responsibilities for this job:

  • Gathering of architecture, design, and presentation of solutions to meet customer needs on primarily Microsoft-focused technology solutions 
  • Ensure deployment and service objectives are met whilst maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction 
  • Act as technical point of contact for customers and the sales teams on Cloud Migration and Transformation projects and Microsoft technologies. 
  • Provide follow-up support in disseminating technical information to the business on specific applications 
  • Provide subject matter expertise to both technical solution and delivery teams 
  • Support in the development and scoping of new service opportunities 
  • Produce high and low-level design documentation in preparation of deploying the solution 
  • Validate pre-sales designs through due-diligence activities to enable final solution validation 
  • Assist with and lead practice development activities, including the development of new services, knowledge management, delivery methodologies and tools 
  • Continuously update your knowledge with regards to key cloud technologies such as Microsoft 365 and Entra 
  • Ensure that our managed services team is enabled to support any solutions you have delivered by conducting a thorough handover and ensuring the solution has been documented to a sufficiently high standard. 
  • Assist with the mentoring of colleagues. 
  • Any other fair and reasonable task or duty assigned to you by your Manager, or other senior Exponential-e Ltd staff member 

 Knowledge and experience required:

  • Strong consulting skills across Microsoft Cloud and Hybrid Technology, particularly Microsoft 365, including experience of most of the following: 
  • Microsoft Teams (including Phone System and an understanding of Direct Routing) 
  • Microsoft Entra 
  • Exchange Online 
  • Microsoft 365 governance & compliance (Purview) 
  • Microsoft Defender security suite 
  • SharePoint and OneDrive for Business 
  • Strong consulting skills across traditional core Microsoft on-premises technology, including the following: 
  • Windows Server 
  • Microsoft Exchange 
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services and other core workloads 
  • File Services (DFS/DFS-R/Storage Replica) 
  • ADFS 
  • Experience configuring and deploying both Public and Private Cloud solutions, with a focus on migrations. 
  • Experience of delivering large or complex projects/transformation projects 
  • Strong organisation and planning skills 
  • Passionate about technology, especially Microsoft cloud and related technology 
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong ability to prioritise efficiently 
  • Solid understanding of networking 
  • Highly adaptable and proactive and able to multi-task and able to work well under pressure 
  • Efficiently communicate both verbally and in written form 
  • Able to work with and manage delivery partners in diverse project teams  

Desirable knowledge and experience in addition to that mentioned above:  

  • Microsoft Intune 
  • Endpoint Security 
  • Recent Microsoft qualifications, for example: 
  • Enterprise Administrator Expert 
  • Teams Administrator Associate 
  • Modern Desktop Admin Associate 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure IaaS 
  • Business continuity concepts and applications 
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles, methods, design, testing and implementation
