About the Role

The Director, Global Presales at CloudBees leads the global presales team that drives the technical success of CloudBees' solutions globally, ensuring alignment with sales strategies, customer needs and company objectives while fostering innovation and collaboration. The role requires deep technical knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to work across multiple geographies and business cultures. 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and mentor a team of solution engineers globally, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
  • Recruit, train, and develop talent to build a high-performing team.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address customer needs and market trends.
  • Align team goals with the company’s business objectives and product roadmap.
  • Work closely with key customers to understand their technical requirements and business challenges.
  • Provide high-level technical consultation and support to ensure successful adoption and utilization of CloudBees solutions.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of complex technical solutions and integrations.
  • Ensure that solutions meet customer needs and adhere to best practices and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical expertise during the pre-sales process and support in closing deals.
  • Work with product management and engineering teams to provide customer feedback and influence product development.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure CloudBees solutions remain competitive and innovative.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the solution engineering function.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to team performance, customer satisfaction, and solution effectiveness.
  • Use data to drive decision-making and refine strategies.
  • Work with other departments, such as customer support, marketing, and professional services, to ensure a cohesive approach to customer success.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with solution delivery and customer engagement.
  • Act as a customer advocate within CloudBees, ensuring their needs and feedback are effectively communicated and addressed.

What the Role Requires

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, Master’s in Engineering) may be preferred.
  • Typically 10+ years of experience in technical sales, presales, or sales engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing global teams, including experience with recruitment, training, and development.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and related technologies.
  • Experience in engaging with customers at various levels, from technical to executive, and managing complex customer relationships.
  • Background in supporting sales teams with technical expertise and contributing to successful sales processes.
  • Strong technical background in areas such as DevOps, software development, cloud infrastructure, and automation.
  • Experience in designing and implementing technical solutions, including integration and customization.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills with focus on mentoring and coaching
  • Exceptional communication, presentation skills, with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Familiarity with CloudBees’ product suite and understanding of competitive landscape and industry trends.
  • Willingness to travel globally as needed.
