As a Channel Sales Representative, you will be responsible for:
- Partner Identification and Recruitment: Identify potential partners through market research, referrals, and networking. Evaluate their suitability based on criteria such as industry alignment, target market, and capabilities.
- Partner Onboarding: Guide partners through the onboarding process, ensuring they have a clear understanding of our company's products, services, and value proposition. Provide training and resources to enable partners to effectively represent our offerings.
- Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with partners, acting as their main point of contact. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address partner needs, resolve issues, and ensure a positive partner experience.
- Sales Enablement: Equip partners with the necessary tools, training, and resources to effectively sell our products and services. Conduct regular training sessions, webinars, and workshops to enhance partner knowledge and sales skills.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor partner performance, track sales metrics, and provide regular reports to management. Identify areas for improvement and work with partners to develop strategies to drive sales growth.
- Keep accurate updated information in CRM about pipeline handled by managed partners;
- Prepare, organize and deliver regular business reviews, with engagement of all the relevant stakeholders both at partner level and internal.
- Support joint go-to-market initiatives including co-selling, co-marketing campaigns, and account mapping with key partners; effective in perform “job shadowing” with partners’ sales people
- Team working with other functions: marketing, product, channel marketing (ie Collaborate in the development and execution of channel programs, including incentive structures, marketing support…)
- Ensure compliance with partner agreements, deal registration policies, and manage potential channel conflicts in alignment with company policies
What YOU require to bring to the team:
- You should be based in the UK.
- You should be available for frequent travel within the UK, Ireland and Nordic countries to meet customers and partners.
- Proven experience in channel sales, partner management, or business development in UK IT market.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with partners at all levels.
- Ability to understand partner needs and align them with our company's offerings.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills to drive partner engagement and achieve sales targets.
- Knowledge of the industry, market trends, and competitor landscape.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency with CRM and PRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to manage partner interactions, pipeline tracking, and performance analytics.
- Experience managing regional or international partner networks or with a complex organizational structure is a plus.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred. However, relevant work experience and skills can also be considered.
- Sales Experience: Previous experience in channel sales or partner management for 5 plus years. This includes a proven track record of achieving sales targets and building successful relationships with channel partners.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively engaging with partners and conveying the value proposition of the company's products or services. The ability to present information clearly and persuasively is crucial.
- Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with channel partners at all levels are key. This includes being able to collaborate effectively, negotiate mutually beneficial agreements, and resolve conflicts if they arise.
- Technical Aptitude: While not always required, having a basic understanding of the company's products or services, as well as the technology landscape, can be advantageous. This helps in providing effective training and support to partners. Technical certifications or training (e.g., Microsoft, Citrix, VMWare…) are a plus.
- Organizational Skills: The Channel Sales Representative must be able to manage multiple partner relationships simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Strong organizational and time management skills are important for success in this role.
- Experience working with various types of IT channel partners such as VARs, MSPs, SIs, and distributors: understanding their operational models and how to align engagement strategies and tactics accordingly.
