This role will work cross-functionally with Field Engagement leaders, Fundraising Program leads, Data & Technology, Marcom, and external vendors to translate fundraising strategy into digital fundraising tactics through a variety of online tools.  They will identify, prioritize and lead the projects required to drive donor acquisition, retention and upgrade.  This role will be responsible for the prioritization of tech projects across Field Engagement, and will oversee the strategic support and tactical operations of key fundraising systems for all core Fundraising Programs that include: Walk, Ride, Run, DIY, Gala, Golf, and Other Special Events.

Responsibilities

The Director, Program Resources is responsible for providing overall leadership in the systems and technology that support Field Engagement.

  • Works in close partnership with the Data & Technology team and represents the needs and priorities of Field Engagement. Acts as the primary point of contact for Tech regarding prioritization of Field Engagement projects and communicates roadmap and timelines with internal stakeholders. Partners with the Philanthropic Intelligence and Analytics team to determine prioritization of projects across the broader Global Development team.
  • Acts as primary point of contact / relationship manager with external vendors. Responsible for communicating scope of work, deliverable deadlines, negotiating contracts, and managing billable hours. Responsible for budgeting and forecasting related to these contracts.
  • Communicates product roadmap to keep internal stakeholders informed of enhancements, priority projects, and release plans for fundraising systems.
  • Consults with the Philanthropic Intelligence and Analytics team to inform on KPI measurements, business practices, SOPs, and changes to CRM and other systems.
  • Manages new product initiatives from concept to launch.
  • Defines content development needs, resources and timelines with appropriate internal and external partners.
  • In partnership with P2P leads, develops and oversees the execution of a digital engagement strategy for P2P participants (Walk, Ride, Run, and DIY).
  • In partnership with Signature Event lead, develops and oversees the execution of a digital engagement strategy for SE participants (Gala, Golf, and Other Signature Events).
  • Manages two direct reports to deliver needed system support and high-level customer support to staff and fundraisers.
  • Actively engages in the industry to keep abreast of trends, case studies, and other learning opportunities that would benefit Breakthrough T1D’s fundraising programs.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 7 years’ fundraising and event experience including with matrixed organization(s) in the disease space, preferably with a chapter-based, and event based fundraising history. 3 years in a supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of both event and non-event fundraising activities (major gifts, stewardship, etc.).
  • Proficiency with fundraising systems – Luminate Online Team Raiser preferred – as well as Salesforce CRM
  • 2 years project management experience.
  • Self-starter while also being collaborative and an amazing team player.
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills; ability to work closely with teams and across functional areas; proactively communicate; demonstrates an ability to be a responsive and effective communicator
  • Ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team; lead by example as a player-coach
  • Skilled in managing various stakeholders throughout projects
  • Effectively establish priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated competency when handling diversified assignments.
  • Team player with the ability to interface with all levels of staff, volunteers and vendors.
  • Superior active listening, observation, analytical, and problem recognition and solving skills.
  • Ability to work and make judgments independently and take initiative.
  • Significant computer literacy (MS Office).
  • College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to travel required (up to10%). Occasional evening and weekend work required as needed.

Target Salary - $85k - $100k
