We are the Accounting team at Plaid, a high-growth financial services technology company. Our mission is to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong cash flow management, and support the company’s growth with scalable and efficient processes. We focus on optimizing AP processes through automation and data-driven decision-making to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Our goal is to support Plaid’s growth by ensuring strong financial controls. The AP and T&E team manages company payments by processing vendor invoices and employee travel and business expenses . They ensure accuracy, compliance with company policy, and timely disbursement.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain and enforce T&E policies in line with regional regulations and tax requirementsManage flight and hotel programs; support contract negotiations with procurement and EAsOversee corporate card program — issue cards, monitor spend, and handle disputesReview and process employee expenses for accuracy and policy complianceAct as T&E point of contact; monitor communication channelsProvide employee support on travel and expense proceduresContinuously improve processes and adapt platform based on feedback and business needsCollaborate with business and finance teams on budgeting, fund allocation, and program rolloutReceive and review invoices; validate against contracts, terms, and vendor profilesAssist with International and US payment runs and maintain direct communication with vendorsResolve invoice discrepancies and respond to payment-related inquiriesWork cross-functionally with Procurement and FP&A for coding and data accuracyReconcile key AP accounts for close activities and maintain recordsIdentify process efficiencies; document workflows to support scalable AP operationsQualifications2-4 years of experience managing T&E and AP in a high growth tech company, with a strong understanding of scalable processes, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration2-4 years of experience working in the accounting function Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, preferredExperience with Brex, NetSuite, Bill.com and IroncladHigh proficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong understanding of travel and expense policies, processes, and compliance requirementsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesProven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a teamExceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracySkilled at communicating finance requirements clearly to non-finance stakeholdersOur mission at Plaid is to unlock financial freedom for everyone.
