Role:  Group Account Director

About the role: 

Are you looking for an opportunity to innovate with brands? Involving the development of strategy, creative concepts, content and campaign implementation?  

 

You will be a Group Account Director working as an integral part of IIG’s new account.  

This is an integrated role, involving the development of strategy and oversight across market specific digital design, creative and production. As IIG’s business model means that we put bespoke studios on-site, it is important that you respect and understand the complexities around working hand-in-hand with clients on a daily basis.  

Experience in and a strong passion for championing and producing engaging and business driving creative content and digital advertising across a fully integrated channel mix is a must. As well as having experience working for FMCG and Healthcare clients producing global content. 

You should be a strong strategic thinker, with an agency background. You will be working closely with the client as a long-term business partner, steering the development of their brand and marketing strategy and building relationships with Brand Director’s and Brand VPs. 

This role requires a courteous, positive and high-energy individual with great people skills. Someone who works hard, but has fun with it and who can demonstrate a proven track record of driving teams to deliver for clients. You should have a meticulous attention to detail, establishing yourself as a safe pair of hands, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. This is a broad ranging role, which has great strategic importance to the client and to IIG.  

They are continually developing their approach to their digital & content strategy and production, and how to manage this effectively in a complex global organization. They look to us to be a partner in this shifting world. We’re looking for someone who can think creatively and commercially about how they can ensure that their digital marketing and content have real business impact – and how we can grow its share of marketing budgets. 

 

What you will be doing: 

  • Building strong relationships with all clients, from brand execs and managers through to directors and VPs.
  • Main point of contact for each Marketing Head. You will work in partnership with the leaders, driving business and the teams to deliver great work.
  • To ensure we’re delivering best in class strategic solutions, and that we’re creating the conditions for great creative work.
  • To bring new thinking in the area of digital marketing and content creation: for example, on how to engage audiences, how to deliver better creative work.
  • To utilise data to drive the client forward.
  • To build and develop the studio’s global planning function, establishing best practice, encouraging innovation, and providing coaching and mentoring for team members.
  • Content and digital innovation is key for the client, and you will ensure this is driven forward globally and collaboratively. 
  • Being an escalation point for the client for any issues with your teams, you will need to be a problem solver that deals with problems with a solution-based attitude.
  • You will be confident with clients and will challenge the client when necessary, whilst keeping a positive relationship. 
  • You negotiate to create win-win compromises with your client on behalf of you team members where needed.
  • You will ensure each global team always delivers to the expected levels of client service and be the leader for global client relationships.
  • Lead each global team by example, line managing the Content Team Leaders.
  • Developing, coaching and driving Content Team Leads and their teams to constantly add value to our clients and to challenge the briefs we receive, in order to break the norm and deliver outstanding creative work. 
  • You will be responsible for the guidance and development of your team, so it is essential you are a great communicator, able to inspire your team and spot potential.
  • You will have oversight of your teams WIPs and knowledge of projects going through the studios, without being pulled into the day-to-day management of projects. The ability to direct teams to deliver, without getting caught up in the detail. 
  • Responsible for growing IIG’s offering, pushing our capabilities to the brand teams and keeping us front of mind with brands for all digital advertising and content creation.
  • You will actively seek out opportunities with brands and build relationships with senior clients, pushing to upsell our offering. 
  • Follow refined processes for IIG and push teams to work to the processes set out but have the ability to challenge process to ensure teams are working as efficiently and effectively as possible.

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • You’ll have experience of leading global planning teams and working with a complex matrix of global clients. 
  • You’ll be a strong hands-on practitioner: an inspiring and commercial brand thinker, adept at turning strategic thinking into creative insight, fluent in developments in the core social platforms, across the latest thinking, tools and techniques for measuring digital comms and content effectiveness.
  • You’ll have strong influencing skills with clients and agency team alike, with the ability to pull diverse groups together to deliver.
  • Relevant agency work experience.
  • Experience working for large FMCG and Healthcare clients is essential.
  • A strong grounding in the commercial running of accounts, bank and stretch and P&L.
  • Strong gravitas and the ability to build relationships with senior clients, building trust in our offering.
  • You’ll have a strong track record in business development, growing the strategic remit for clients you’ve worked with.
  • You’ll be commercially astute, knowing how to get great work delivered efficiently, to the benefit of the agency.
  • A team player with a client-centric focus and possess the ability to build strong and effective working relationships with your teams and colleagues.
