Job description

National Account Director (NAD), Wholesale will be responsible for all assigned accounts which will initially include Cencora, Walgreens, and other indirect accounts. The NAD will be responsible for all Account Management activities including successful achievement of strategy development, contracting, negotiation, pricing, marketing development program, pull through activities and relationship building at all assigned accounts.

The NAD will also be accountable for developing new Go-to-Market strategies with associated tactics to continue to drive our business in a changing Healthcare landscape. They will also test new ideas to drive innovative thinking, leading to incremental sales and value to our customers. The individual will create strong relationships with internal partners to drive sales (analytics, marketing, Digital, R&D, finance, communications, HR, Sales Training).

This position is a remote role based in the USA.

  • Achieve positive results for all aspects of the National Account Director job responsibilities including achieving sales goals and objectives along with successful negotiation and execution of all contracts.
  • Develop best in class relationships with all relevant touchpoints within each Channel Account.
  • Monitor Sales efforts through analytic tools, assessing necessary Channel pull through activities to continue to drive positive share and volume growth.
  • Understand regional (state) influences that may cause specific go-to-market approaches/ pull through activities including targeted Sales Force or marketing tactics.
  • Forecasting and Long Term and Short term to ensure all customer specifications are met.
  • Learn and study the Healthcare marketplace to create forward looking strategies that allow Lifescan to remain ahead of our competition.
  • Have a clear understanding of share, volume, NTS trending at each account, catching market or account changes early to adjust strategy.
  • Utilize and partner with all internal teams including Marketing, Market Access, Analytics, Contracting, Syneos team, Clinical, R&D and Sr Leadership.
  • Special project work based upon marketplace need and appropriate SAD Development.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of Channel / Wholesale experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of the Payer Landscape is required
  • Multiple years of large account management experience in the healthcare arena, preferably Channel / Wholesale accounts
  • Multiple years of developing strong relationships with multiple departments within accounts
  • Diabetes Knowledge is a plus
  • Negotiation and contracting experience
  • Successful execution and addition of new products
  • Ability to build relationships at the Sr Director and VP level
  • Strong analytical skills including EXCEL and forecasting experience
  • Passion for Our Company and Products
  • Great communication skills verbal and written across all levels
  • Critical thinking to assess ideas and capability to head of issues early
  • An insatiable need to solve problems, discover new space and implement business plans to capture new business opportunities


Actual salary range is based on the requirements of the job and your skills and experience. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and LifeScan reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.

USD $130,000.00 - USD $170,000.00 /Yr.
