We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced eLearning and Training Engineer to join our Learning and Development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for playing a crucial role as a strong team player who is genuinely excited and passionate about teaching and engaging with customers and teammates. You will have the opportunity to develop and deliver training sessions, through the creation of engaging elearning and in person training. Despite being a remote position, you will collaborate with a dynamic team of individuals who are forward thinkers and trailblazers in the HMIS (Homeless Management Information System) Software training industry.

Compensation:
We are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including skills, qualifications and professional experience, which can cause your compensation to vary. This role has an annual targeted total compensation range of $37,000 - $82,000, which includes variable compensation (bonus) eligibility.
(Most candidates join us at the lower half of the range to leave room for growth, learning, and development; we negotiate actual salaries with final candidates based on experience in similar roles and expertise related to qualifications)

About the Learning and Development Team:
At the heart of Bitfocus, our Learning and Development Team plays a pivotal role in creating positive first impressions for our end-users and employees through engaging learning content. Beyond mere knowledge transfer, the team advocates for the transformative training of our data solutions, service delivery, and Clarity Human Services performance. The L&D team works seamlessly with all departments, spearheading the creation of comprehensive training programs, both internally and externally. These initiatives empower learners with the knowledge and skills essential for enhancing their performance and achieving success with our products and services.
As an eLearning and Training Engineer, you will:
- Project Management: Take ownership of project planning and work independently to script, record, edit, and publish training materials. You will ensure projects are completed within set timelines and meet quality standards.
- Communication: Effectively communicate the key objectives and initiatives of the Learning and Development team. You will assist with prioritization efforts and serve as a vocal advocate for our initiatives, promoting their value and impact.
- Editing, LMS, and Hosting Technology: Will use content creation software such as Camtasia, Adobe, and PowerPoint. Responsibilities include recording audio and video, applying basic transitions, and ensuring consistent branding. Additionally, make minor adjustments based on feedback, incorporate zoom and pan effects, and create diverse assets. Upload videos to Wistia, develop Skilljar courses, publish content to designated domains, structure paths, plans, and groups within Skilljar, and address Skilljar-related eLearning tickets.
- Administration: Support the administration of the current Learning Management System (LMS). This may involve tasks such as managing user accounts, monitoring course enrollments, and generating reports.
- Live Training Events: Facilitate live training events, conducting engaging and interactive sessions that effectively deliver the intended learning outcomes. You will create a conducive learning environment and adapt your training approach to meet the needs of diverse audiences.
- Web-Based Training Events: Facilitate webinar-based training events, leveraging virtual platforms to deliver interactive and effective training sessions. You will utilize various tools and techniques to engage participants remotely.
- Organization and Editing: Organize and edit existing training materials and documents associated with our Confluence page. You will ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy in the content, making it user-friendly and easily accessible to learners.
- Goal Completion: Contribute to advancing the team's goals and drive initiatives to successful completion every quarter. You will actively participate in goal-setting, progress tracking, and reporting, ensuring the team's objectives are achieved.
- Policies and Procedures: Assist in the documentation of internal policies and procedures related to training and department responsibilities. You will contribute to creating clear guidelines and instructions to facilitate efficient and consistent training practices.
- Peer Review: Support the Learning and Development team by participating in peer review processes as needed. You will provide valuable feedback and recommendations to enhance the quality of training materials and resources.
- Editing Software: Be the L&D teams subject matter expertise in editing software such as the Adobe Suite and/or Camtasia. Your proficiency in these tools will enable you to enhance the visual and multimedia elements of training materials.
- Travel: Be willing to travel as needed to support training initiatives, such as conducting in-person training sessions, attending conferences, or collaborating with other team members in different locations. Typically, but not limited to, 4-6 days between 1-3 trips
- Technical Aptitude: Demonstrating a strong technical aptitude and an eagerness to learn new software applications and tools. You will leverage technology and digital platforms to create interactive and immersive training experiences.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Developing a deep understanding of the HMIS Software and staying up to date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and product updates. You will become a subject matter expert and a trusted resource for both internal teams and external customers.
What you bring:
- You have 2 to 3 years of teaching/training experience (education or experience)
- You have 1 to 2 years of content creation experience
- You have extensive experience training and are comfortable speaking to large groups.
- You have excellent people/public relations and communication skills.
- You have the proven ability to work effectively with a team or independently.
- You have extensive experience in project management skills and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and contractual obligations, including the ability to constantly triage, moving projects along with parallel timelines while responding to new priorities.
