About The Role

The Operations Director of Wellbeing will work closely with the Managing Director of Wellbeing and the Group Leadership Team and will play a key influencing role in optimizing and implementing our fundamental operational processes and structures, aiming to create brilliant basics. By aligning our teams, creating efficiencies and leading (strategic) account management, the Operations Director will significantly contribute to the organic growth and development of our Wellbeing Business Unit.

Focusing primarily on creating brilliant basics, bringing together high performing teams and building winning operational strategies, while as part of the Senior Leadership team being involved in enhancing our Wellbeing value proposition and long term strategy, the Operations Director will play a key role in the future of the Wellbeing Business Unit.

About The Role

  • Nurture and develop a high performance culture and a high performing team that is able to deliver qualitative and innovative industry leading propositions;
  • Provide leadership to support the organisation’s Wellbeing strategy and planning to optimise the business unit’s financial performance and strategic position; Contribute fully to the Wellbeing strategy across all areas of the Business Unit, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial and non-financial analysis and guidance on activities, plans, targets and business drivers;
  • Work closely with the internal business partners and Shared Services;
  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver the strategic plan, business targets and objectives, translating strategy to daily operations, formulating tactical plans and priorities as required;
  • Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong, positive working relationships with key customers, strategic partners and other third party’s / advisors;
  • Responsible for embedding an innovative and creative approach to meet our customer needs and expectations;
  • Identify and generate new and incremental revenue streams to deliver sustainable growth by leveraging high level and market influencing business development activities within the existing client portfolio;
  • To exploit a changing marketplace by supporting the creation of solutions which can secure sustainable future growth inside and outside of existing markets, products and services;
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and Group Leadership Team to explore and identify innovative business development opportunities for the Wellbeing Business Unit to inform and aid future strategy and direction around strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and acquisitions;
  • Provide support and guidance to business areas during strategic projects, contribute to the development of the Wellbeing Business Unit’s plan, and help deliver approved projects, partnerships, and acquisitions in alignment with the Group Leadership Team.

About You:

Education and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree level educated or equivalent experience

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in building a culture that creates and supports high performance teams;
  • Leading teams of highly skilled industry professionals;
  • A high level of experience and understanding within the international corporate wellbeing sector;
  • Demonstrable negotiation and communication skills with the ability to engage both externally and internally at all levels;
  • Experience in contributing to, and implementing strategic business plans and goals;
  • A significant amount of senior sales management experience with a proven track record in business-to-business sales within the public and private sectors;
  • Demonstrable experience of leading successful commercial negotiations with customers, suppliers or other significant third parties;
  • Can demonstrate the ability to successfully lead major projects, change initiatives and programmes through development to implementation and delivery;
  • Senior leadership experience in a high growth business;
  • Previous experience of being involved in acquisitions and/or mergers.

  • Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making
  • Ability to appropriately prioritise projects, programmes, resources and objectives through to delivery

  • An understanding of systems thinking, and can see how the business’s activities (both future and present) can benefit other external services
  • The ability to handle complex sales and account development opportunities and be able to research and anticipate future changes in industry trends in order to plan and implement new or revised business activity
  • An entrepreneurial, tenacious, engaging style by leading people to ensure key plans and activities are implemented and can engender confidence
  • Strong IT skills, being aware of new techniques, technologies and methods
  • High integrity and openness combined with a commitment to good governance
