Job description

The Community Director will run a team that serves as the frontline for data, tools, and strategic support for members of the Democratic data ecosystem including state parties, sister committees, and campaigns. Major areas of work include: managing a team of Community Analysts; setting the standard for support, collaboration, relationship building, training, and curriculum development; long-term planning and process improvement; collaboration and coordination with the larger Tech team and the DNC. 


Responsibilities:
  • Best in class user support. Lead on the front lines ensuring we are delivering impactful solutions to users: setting and meeting high standards of customer support through a number of channels including our Zendesk ticketing system, ensuring users get the most out of our suite of tools and products.
  • Team vision & management. Manage and mentor our Community Analysts who work to support our users every day. Develop and execute on short and longer term vision for the Community Team and individual team member professional development.
  • Pipeline training & skills development. Lead the charge on data and tool training programs for core user groups. Continue the drive to develop an impactful and reliable training curriculum to support new incoming data teams in states and to uplevel technical skills as we head toward 2026.
  • Product insights. Partner deeply with product product and user experience teams to deliver user insights that influence product development. Ensure the entire Tech Team is learning about our users through the work of the community team through regular reporting and communication. Collaborate on product releases, ensure we are building relationships and providing the highest level of user support and strategic guidance.
  • Ecosystem relationship management. Foster deep relationships with state party and sister committee partners and other hard side organizations. Develop and execute on partnership models that support our training, skill development, and implementation of data standards across the ecosystem. Collaborate with internal teams across product, engineering, data, and user experience to make this happen.

  • Requirements:
  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Fluency with the overall data/tech tools (Google’s BigQuery, Data Studio, SQL, VAN, etc.), services, and support provided by the party to stakeholders
  • Political campaign or political tech experience
  • Fantastic communication and relationship building skills and a desire to hone and apply them
  • Experience in an externally-facing role, where you have been “the face” of your organization (i.e. user, customer, or volunteer-facing roles)
  • A desire to collaborate and work closely with cross-functional partners
  • A natural curiosity and humility to the way you approach your work
  • A desire to change politics for the better, support the Democratic Party, and secure the future of our country

  • The starting salary for the position is $120,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends.
