Position Purpose

The Home Care business within BD is unique in that it can manufacture products for consumers in the home and service them through our medical distribution subsidiary, Liberator Medical.This business unit engages with a variety of stakeholders that range from B2B2C and leverages omni-channels to drive awareness, engagement, conversion, and retention of our customers.The mission of the Home Care business is to deliver clinically superior solutions for people with chronic bladder conditions in their pursuit of normality and independence.Solutions include both products and services to support customers through their entire journey.

Liberator Medical Supply, a subsidiary of BD, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Project Management Office to oversee all aspects of programs and projects, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and quality. In this role, you will collaborate extensively with business, product, technology, legal, and executive teams to deliver and execute projects that exceed our business outcomes. This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic leader to drive impactful initiatives and make a significant difference in our organization.

The ideal candidate for this role will excel at building trusting and collaborative relationships with executive leadership and cross-functional teams. By fostering strong partnerships with key stakeholders, this individual will effectively oversee the end-to-end execution of strategic initiatives that drive business outcomes. Expertise in project management, analytics, business practices, and executive presence is crucial. A proven track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional transformation and innovation initiatives is essential for success.The candidate should have a proven ability to manage a variety of project types across different domains.

The successful candidate will be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and naturally curious, with the ability to develop creative solutions when conventional approaches fall short. They will favor practical solutions over idealistic ones in times of uncertainty and possess a perpetual curiosity and passion for achieving business outcomes.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement PMO processes and policies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.

  • Oversee the portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.

  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Provide leadership and guidance to project managers and project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

  • Has the experience of managing both long term projects (12-18 months) and short term projects.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define project priorities, objectives, and success criteria.

  • Develop and implement project management methodologies, standards, and tools to drive efficiency and consistency across projects.

  • Lead, facilitate, coordinate, and track activities required to ensure projects are completed on time, successfully, and in a manner consistent with organizational goals, departmental policies, and established processes.

  • Remove blockers and find the path forward in challenging situations.

  • Lead initiatives to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, streamline processes, and improve overall operational performance.

  • Utilize data-driven approaches to analyze project and operational metrics and implement improvements.

  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to identify risks to project success; develop effective action plans for resolution.

  • Understands Business Architecture and Technical Solution Architecture, working with internal and external partners to evaluate and implement new technologies.

  • Mentor and develop project managers and team members, promoting professional growth and development.

ANCILLARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Must demonstrate an ability to establish relationships and build rapport to influence colleagues at all levels, uncover business or technical issues, and facilitate their resolution.
  • Must be adept at addressing discrepancies with team members in a constructive manner, escalating issues and risks when necessary, and driving solutions to maintain transparency in project reporting.
  • Must be able to present information concisely and clearly to all levels of management.
  • Must be a high-energy, hands-on contributor, comfortable in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, entrepreneurial work environment.
  • Be responsible for the selection and management of external vendors and contractors, ensuring they deliver on their commitments.
  • Leads and inspires the team via open communication, effective listening, and strong collaborative networks.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions and adoption of new processes or systems.
  • Create business case financial models
  • Uses analytical experience to build a road map to meet the needs of the partners.
  • Forecast, monitor and report on project financials, and maintain financials in project management tools.
  • Displays strong initiative, addressing issues without prompting

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred

Must have experience collaborating with executives within a company to drive completion of a program from start to finish.

Travel: Ability to travel up to 20% and at times may require greater travel.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of proven experience as a program or project manager
  • 5+ years leading and mentoring other managers
  • 5+ years of working within, building, or leading a PMO office
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive responsibility managing multiple, complex projects concurrently
  • Management and oversight of large-scale, complex environments with multiple reporting lines and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and delivering complex, multi-year technology projects and programs, including operational components
  • Familiarity with policies and practices of working in a healthcare environment

  • Presentations- the ability to create presentations for key stakeholders and working team members.
  • Problem solving—the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Oral communication—the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and conducts productive meetings.

Licensure or Certifications required:  

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other professional development related specifically to project management preferred
