VR Scenario Builder Specialist

The target hiring range for this position is $84,000-$92,000 per year.

Position Summary:

Nightingale College is seeking a talented Virtual Reality Scenario Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Virtual Reality Scenario Builder, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing immersive virtual reality scenarios within the Nightingale concept-based Nursing Curriculum.

**This position is Fully Remote**

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Scenario Design: Collaborate with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and faculty to conceptualize and design realistic and engaging virtual reality scenarios that align with nursing curriculum concepts and exemplars.
  • Content Creation: Utilize VR authoring tools and software to develop interactive and immersive virtual reality environments, including 3D models, animations, textures, and audio elements.
  • Scenario Logic/Scripting: Write detailed scripts and design complex logic for virtual reality scenarios, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and educational value.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous testing and quality assurance to ensure that virtual reality scenarios are functional, error-free, and conducive to effective learning experiences.
  • User Experience Optimization: Continuously iterate on virtual reality scenarios based on learner, faculty, and stakeholder feedback to enhance user experience and educational outcomes.
  • Training and Support: Provide training, technical support, and documentation to faculty and staff on effectively utilizing virtual reality scenarios in nursing education.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in virtual reality, simulation-based learning, and nursing education to drive innovation and excellence in scenario development.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Multimedia Design, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Registered Nurse Licensure Preferred.
  • Proven experience in virtual reality development, including proficiency in VR authoring tools such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or equivalent.
  • Strong scripting and storytelling skills with the ability to create compelling narratives for immersive experiences.
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles and experience in curriculum development for nursing education.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for education, healthcare, and leveraging technology to enhance learning outcomes.
