Job description

Chief of Staff to the CEO

Solink sits at the intersection of several high-growth, meaningful technology shifts – leveraging AI for security & operational use cases, providing inference at the edge, and transitioning legacy on-prem video analytics & data to the cloud. We started with a focus on physical security use cases, predominantly serving the restaurant and retail industries but are quickly expanding into new verticals (property management, logistics, public sector). In addition, by leveraging best-in-class GenAI architecture and agentic workflows, we are expanding from video security into additional security markets (alarms, access controls) and into new operational use cases expanding our ability to capture wallet and mindshare from our customer base.

Working at Solink means you will be sitting at the forefront of AI, edge, and agent development to provide an exceptional experience to the people that matter, our customers. We partner closely with our venture investors to drive exceptional growth with a mission to continue our scaling journey for years to come. We have a creative and collaborative work environment, and all of our employees have meaningful equity in the company.

A bit about the role…

We are looking for a strategic, execution-focused Chief of Staff to serve as the right hand to our CEO. This is not an EA role—it’s an operational, high-leverage position for someone who thrives on driving clarity, alignment, and outcomes across a fast-growing organization. As Chief of Staff, you will be part strategist, part operator, and part trusted advisor, acting as a force multiplier to ensure the CEO’s time and focus align with the company’s most critical priorities.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • You have 4+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, investing, strategy, VC-backed start up, or other high-performance environments.

  • You possess a strong executive presence with the ability to influence without authority.

  • You have a bias toward action—you excel at turning chaos into clarity and ideas into outcomes.

  • You are comfortable moving seamlessly between high-level strategic thinking and hands-on tactical execution.

  • You have proven experience in leading cross-functional teams through influence and building strong relationships at all levels.

  • You are a thoughtful communicator, an excellent writer, and a sharp analytical thinker.

  • You are based in, or are willing to travel to, Ottawa.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior Chief of Staff or founder experience.

  • Experience working directly with a CEO or senior leadership team.

  • A background in SaaS, marketplaces, or operationally complex business models.

What It Takes to Thrive in This Role…..
  • You excel in fast-paced, high-growth environments where priorities shift and problems aren’t always clearly defined.

  • You’re a proactive operator who takes ownership, follows through, and drives outcomes—without needing a playbook.

  • You think in systems, love turning chaos into clarity, and bring structure where it’s most needed.

  • You’re energized by working closely with executive leadership and aren’t afraid to ask tough questions or challenge the status quo.

  • You care deeply about company culture and want to play a meaningful role in scaling it intentionally.

  • You bring sound judgment, discretion, and the trustworthiness to be a true thought partner to senior leaders.

  • You’re hungry for a role that will accelerate your career—and you’re ready to earn that growth through impact.

 What This Role Is Not

This isn’t a traditional support role or a job with neatly defined tasks. It’s a high-impact, high-trust position designed for someone who thrives in ambiguity and drives clarity at the executive level.

This role is not for you if:

  • You prefer clearly defined tasks over solving unstructured, ambiguous problems.

  • You're uncomfortable challenging ideas, managing up, or influencing without authority.

  • You view the Chief of Staff as a behind-the-scenes support function rather than a leadership amplifier.

  • You wait for direction instead of proactively identifying and solving the most critical issues.

  • You're seeking a predictable, 9-to-5 role without urgency, rapid change, or accountability for outcomes.

  • You’re not excited about diving into the business across GTM, product, operations, finance, and people to understand where to add leverage.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire;

  • Eligible to work in Canada;

  • Be willing to comply with Solink’s own security policies and standards.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Act as a strategic thought partner and execution arm to the CEO.

  • Manage key cross-functional initiatives from concept to completion, driving business performance and supporting high-level decision-making.

  • Lead strategic planning efforts, including setting OKRs and implementing business review rhythms.

  • Drive accountability across leadership by following up on action items and providing insight-driven recommendations.

  • Prepare internal and external materials, such as board decks, investor updates, and internal communications.

  • Own high-priority special projects that span GTM, product, finance, and operations functions.

  • Anticipate potential issues before they arise and proactively remove barriers to execution.

  • Be a culture amplifier by ensuring our core values scale with our growing business.

WHAT IS SOLINK?

Solink is on a mission to redefine how physical businesses operate. We turn video and data into real-time intelligence—helping our customers prevent loss, improve operations, and make smarter decisions across every location, every day.

We started in the restaurant and retail space, solving complex challenges in security, fraud, and efficiency. Today, we're rapidly expanding into new industries like logistics and property management—bringing powerful operational insights to an even broader set of use cases.

We sit at the intersection of massive tailwinds:
AI is accelerating, edge devices are everywhere, and businesses are demanding more visibility and accountability than ever before. Solink is uniquely positioned to meet that moment—with a platform that combines video, data, and intelligent workflows to help businesses run smarter.

We’re one of Ottawa’s fastest-growing companies, backed by top-tier investors and trusted by thousands of customers across North America. Our growth is real, our market is massive, and our team is just getting started.

At Solink, you won’t just be building software—you’ll be helping shape the future of how physical businesses operate. This is a rare opportunity to join a rocket ship with meaningful scale, real customers, and even bigger ambition.
