Job description

Pricing Analyst
Location: Remote, but able to work at least 60% of hours in US Eastern Time Zone
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and data-driven Pricing Analyst to lead the development and optimization of pricing strategies across our diverse business units. Given the low innovation in pricing and packaging within our markets, this role will be responsible for introducing fresh pricing methodologies from other industries to drive revenue growth and competitive advantage.

The ideal candidate will have extensive pricing experience, with a strong focus on optimizing pricing using data-driven methodologies, advanced analytics (including price elasticity modelling, competitive benchmarking, A/B testing, and predictive pricing algorithms), and automation tools such as Python, Power BI, and machine learning-based pricing engines. As we continue to develop our data platform and capabilities, proficiency in SQL and engineering principles will be beneficial for working with complex datasets and integrating pricing automation.

This role requires an elevated level of communication and collaboration with stakeholders across the business to deeply understand complex pricing challenges across diverse markets and product lines. While leadership stakeholder management will be supported by our team, it is essential that the candidate can work closely with cross-functional teams—including commercial, finance, sales, and product teams—to develop and refine data-driven pricing strategies that are both commercially viable and technically robust.

Key Responsibilities
1. Pricing Innovation & Industry Best Practices
  • Identify and adapt pricing models from innovative industries (e.g., SaaS, e-commerce, subscription services, or dynamic pricing models) to apply within our markets.
  • Assess how value-based pricing methodologies such as bundling, tiered pricing, dynamic pricing, and other advanced strategies can be leveraged for competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with business units to pilot new pricing structures and packaging models, tracking performance and iterating for success.
2. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with senior team members across finance, sales, and product teams to support pricing strategy discussions.
  • Assist in tailoring pricing recommendations to align with the unique needs and priorities of different business units.
  • Prepare data-driven insights and reports to help senior colleagues present pricing strategies effectively.
  • Contribute to cross-functional discussions by gathering insights and sharing best practices on pricing approaches.
3. Data-Driven Pricing Strategy Development
  • Develop and refine value-based, competitive pricing models tailored to different customer segments and business units, leveraging customer behavioral analysis, market trends, and competitor benchmarking.
  • Conduct deep analysis of price elasticity, customer willingness to pay, and revenue impact modeling.
  • Benchmark against competitors and adjacent industries to identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Support the implementation of pricing automation tools and dashboards for real-time decision-making.
4. Revenue Optimization & Strategic Pricing Execution
  • Identify margin improvement opportunities through pricing refinements, bundling, and segmentation strategies.
  • Evaluate and refine discounting, promotional pricing, and subscription models to maximize lifetime value.
  • Partner with finance teams to model pricing scenarios and forecast revenue impact.
  • Monitor performance post-implementation and make data-driven recommendations for iterative improvements.
5. Governance, Standardization & Reporting
  • Establish pricing governance frameworks that ensure consistency while allowing business unit flexibility.
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards to track pricing effectiveness, margin performance, and market responsiveness.
  • Ensure pricing strategies comply with regulatory, legal, and financial requirements.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications
Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex methodologies and insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels. Ability to translate pricing insights into compelling narratives for leadership teams.

Pricing & Commercial Strategy Expertise:
Proven experience in pricing strategy, revenue management, or commercial finance. A sound understanding of available tools and packages for pricing optimization. Ability to adapt pricing innovations from other industries to drive market differentiation. Experience with value-based pricing, tiered pricing, and dynamic pricing models. Strong understanding of B2B, B2C, and/or subscription-based pricing strategies.

Analytical & Technical Skills:
Proficient in Python/R, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for pricing analysis and automation. Strong understanding of machine learning applications for pricing optimization. Ability to integrate APIs and automate pricing workflows.

Experience & Education:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pricing, strategy, revenue optimization, or commercial analytics.
  • Experience working in a multi-business-unit or global company is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field (MBA or advanced degree is a plus).
