Job Description
We are currently hiring adjunct faculty to teach UNSY 205 -Applied Physics for Uncrewed Systems.
Course Description
A foundation in physics as required to understand uncrewed systems applications such as sensor technology, communication and control interfaces, electro-technical and electronic application design, construction and implementation. Elementary particle theory, field properties, wave propagation, and optical relationships as required for an understanding of applications within the electromagnetic spectrum to include modulation concepts. Analog and digital electronic circuitry to include signal logic, and electromechanical and electromotive devices to include servo applications.
Please note that ERAU policy requires that all adjuncts be physically located within the United States while working for the University, including during training. Presently, we are able to support work for new adjuncts from all U.S. states except California. ERAU does not support work from international locations with some limited exceptions for individuals who are residing and working from U.S. military bases.
If selected for this role, the candidate will be required to provide proof of stated qualifications. This includes, but is not limited to, official transcripts, copies of professional licenses/certifications, documentation of military experience, and/or verified professional industry related experience.
Desired Professional Training or Experience
Experience at a Military / Civilian organization operating unmanned and/or robotic systems. Active membership in professional organizations in engineering, i.e., National Academy of Engineering, National Society of Professional Engineers, Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, or other organizations in fields related to development, testing, operation, training, or maintenance of unmanned and robotic systems and related technology. Experience with adult education in scientific, technological, engineering, or math (STEM) related subjects.
Applicable Professional Certification
Rated/certified military operations or maintenance officer or civil equivalent for unmanned systems/robots or any professional certification related to unmanned systems operation or maintenance. FCC certification or any professional certification related to applicable unmanned systems technologies. Teaching certification for physics/science, technology, and/or engineering education or application.
