Job description

What Account Management - Distribution contributes to Cardinal Health

Direct Sales is responsible for driving sales and services to new and/or existing customers through face-to-face or telephone contact to meet individual and organizational sales objectives.

Account Management - Distribution is responsible for managing the success of the relationship with an assigned set of customers in order to achieve the goals and objectives identified by the customer and Cardinal Health. Responsible for long-term relationship building between the customer, Cardinal Health, and other professional organizations (Group Purchasing Organizations, etc). The complexity of the solution, product, or services offered is variable and can range from simple to moderately complex selling. Sells products and services that help facilitate patient care predominately through optimizing the supply chain and the selection and management of the products within.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Consultants responsible for managing 3PL customer relationships.
    • Set clear goals and objectives for the team, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback.
    • Identify training needs and implement development plans to enhance team skills.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Oversee the onboarding process for new 3PL customers, ensuring a smooth transition.
    • Develop and implement strategies to build strong and lasting relationships with existing 3PL customers.
    • Proactively identify and address customer needs and concerns, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
    • Manage escalated customer issues and work collaboratively with internal teams to find solutions.
  • Contract Management:
    • Lead the team in identifying and responding to RFPs from potential 3PL customers.
    • Develop and negotiate new agreements with 3PL customers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Monitor contract performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting:
    • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team and customer performance.
    • Prepare regular reports on customer satisfaction, contract performance, and team progress.
    • Analyze data and identify trends to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in account management.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
  • 8+ years of experience, preferred
  • Preferred Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Black/Green Belt, PMP, Etc.
  • Proven experience leading and managing a team of account managers.
  • Strong understanding of contract negotiation and management principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Travel Expectations: 10-15%

Anticipated salary range: $103,500 - $147,900
