🚀 Who we are
Nava Benefits is a modern benefits brokerage on a mission to make great benefits easy. We’re led by a calling that’s focused on more than maximizing profits: bringing high-quality, affordable healthcare to all Americans. Starting with a focus on employers, our approach combines deep industry expertise and tech-forward innovation with an ultimate goal to #fixhealthcare.
Launched by seasoned co-founders, we're a cross-functional, passionate group of experts and disruptors of the system intent on combatting the rising cost and lack of accessibility of American healthcare while also building the industry's most diverse and dynamic place to work. In 2022, Nava was proudly ranked on the Inc. Best Workplaces list and NYC Digital Health 100.
🚀 About the Role
At Nava, great outcomes start with great data — and that starts with the client’s BenAdmin. We’re seeking a Systems Specialist to play a critical role in helping us scale and optimize Nava’s shared services model.
You'll play a critical role in making sure client BenAdmin systems are built right, maintained proactively, and connected seamlessly, so Nava’s automations and integrations can deliver even better results for our clients and their teams. You'll support a dedicated book of clients, managing the full lifecycle of their BenAdmin platforms — from system implementation and renewal plan rebuilds to ongoing data management, integrations, and automation setup. Additionally, you’ll work cross-functionally with internal teams (Client Success, Product, and Operations), external vendors, and directly with clients to drive platform success.
Prior experience configuring, implementing, and managing benefit administration systems such as ADP, Paycom, UKG, Dayforce (fka Ceridian), and Workday is essential.
🚀 What you’ll do
- Client Systems Ownership & Optimization: You will own configuration and ongoing management of your clients benefit administration platforms, proactively maintaining, updating, and optimizing their systems throughout the year.
- Renewal Rebuilds: Lead system rebuilds during client renewals, ensuring plans, rates, eligibility rules, and workflows are configured accurately and efficiently.
- New Builds & Implementations: Scope, design, and build BenAdmin systems for clients, partnering with vendors and client teams to create a seamless launch experience.
- Automation & Data Management: Set up and maintain EDI feeds, work with data teams to improve data ingestion, and ensure systems are aligned with Nava’s automation initiatives.
- Client-Facing Expertise: Join client calls as the technical specialist to troubleshoot, recommend improvements, or guide platform strategy.
- Vendor Collaboration: Partner with BenAdmin vendors to configure builds, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements.
- Product Collaboration: Act as a systems subject matter expert, working closely with our Product team to identify areas for automation and product improvements.
🚀 Who will love this job
- A systems builder – You love taking ownership of a system’s architecture, workflows, and fine-tuning the intricate details that make it run flawlessly.
- A proactive executor – You’re not just responding to issues; you're anticipating needs, improving processes, and building for scale.
- A confident communicator – You’re comfortable hopping on client or vendor calls to solve problems, explain technical details, and make recommendations.
- A dynamic team player – You thrive in a collaborative environment, where cross-functional partnerships are essential for exceeding business goals, and you actively contribute to the success of the team.
🚀 What you’ll bring
We're seeking an accomplished professional with a proven track record as a benefits systems specialist and a passion for innovation and collaboration. Specifically:
- 5+ years of experience managing benefit administration platforms for mid-market and large group clients in a brokerage or consulting environment. Vendor-side experience is also considered.
- You have an expert level understanding of one or more of the following benadmin systems: ADP, Paycom, UKG, Dayforce (fka Ceridian), and Workday
- Strong technical knowledge in setting up EDI feeds, working with data teams on census ingestion, and supporting automation efforts.
- Excellent project management, organization, and communication skills — able to manage timelines, stakeholders, and competing priorities with ease.
🚀 Working at Nava
As a remote-first company, Nava is committed to building a dynamic and inclusive culture where you have the autonomy to thrive. You’ll be supported by cutting-edge technology, a collaborative team, and a shared mission to revolutionize healthcare.
