Job description

Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the US, is adding a Director of Employee Benefits Account Management to their Corporate Synergies team in Orange, CA Metro Region. 

*This position is based in the Orange, CA Metro Region but offers the flexibility to be fully remote. 

Job Summary:

The Director is a skilled client-facing position that proactively uses their technical expertise, strategic insight and proven ability to collaborate with Sales to guide team members with the execution of deliverables and to provide exceptional service resulting in a 94% renewal rate (retention/net renewal change) associated with multiple assigned client accounts (Book of Business).

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop complete understanding of a client’s needs and introduce/coordinate the appropriate solutions to support/enhance their culture, values and mission (i.e. strategic plan).   
  • Collaborate with account team to provide oversight/direction on the client life-cycle and manage/ensure that deliverables are met timely (i.e. annual service delivery calendar).  
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends/strategies and provide clients with insight/advice.  
  • Collaborate with team members/vendors to create innovative solutions and opportunities.  
  • Complete necessary training and professional development to further develop technical and subject matter expertise.  
  • Maintain up-to-date client files/internal systems in accordance with CSG’s standard protocols.  
  • Compliance with CSG’s processes and operating standards.    

Essential Functions:

  • As part of the client life-cycle (on-boarding, ongoing support and renewal), work closely with the Team to execute on the day-to-day service deliverables for ALL lines of coverage and products by:
    • Understanding a client’s goals/objectives, collaborating with team members to identify creative/innovative solutions and developing a strategic plan (roadmap
    • Ensuring that the annual service delivery calendar (life-cycle) is delivered/updated timely (with client buy-in) and is in support of the multi-year strategic plan (roadmap) 
    • Preparing the various deliverables by leveraging team member expertise, available tools, established standards/work products, etc. to manage client expectations and ensure timely delivery of materials in accordance with the client life-cycle  
    • Effectively communicating and presenting findings, analysis and recommendations in meetings/calls/emails (i.e. setting agendas and appropriate internal/external follow-up) 
    •  Developing, cultivating and maintaining strong client/vendor relationships
    • Measuring results, anticipating, addressing issues and course-correcting plans that could impact client retention Understanding and communicating the availability of resources within CSG
  • Throughout the year, peer-review materials and ensure accuracy of information delivered by team members.    
  • Research, respond and/or resolve client inquiries/service-related issues independently, involving more experienced team members and resources when necessary.  
  • Support new sales by participating with new business opportunities and round-out existing accounts by identifying/driving upsell opportunities.     
  • Interact with carriers and vendors on behalf of the client and the team.  
  • Ability to identify and leverage resources appropriate for upsell opportunities.  
  • Responsible for account profitability and reconciling client revenue monthly (BenefitPoint vs. Finance Accrued Revenue).

    • CSG suite of services and available solutions 
    • Insurance and healthcare related products
    • All regulatory and compliance related matters (including client impact/applicability)
  • Proven ability to effectively develop a strategic plan and manage all aspects of the client life-cycle for a book of business 
  • Ability to model complex financial implications from benefit programs 
  • Skilled in negotiating with insurance carriers  
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word 
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills 
  • Works collaboratively with a team as well as independently, capable of meeting deadlines and delegating when necessary 
  • Ability to establish meaningful/deep relationships with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate composure/resilience under pressure - Comfortable switching between clients and tasks to meet deadlines 
  • Possesses an enhanced understanding of general business and financial concepts 
  • Proven ability to train/develop lower-level staff and manage/assign work to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to effectively create, organize and manage a project plan 
  • Thorough understanding of strategy and long-term planning

Education & Experience:

  • 7+ years of prior practical account management experience with a health and welfare carrier or broker is required
  • Licensure/Certification – State Specific Resident Life & Health License is required

This range represents the estimated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to performance, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of FRP's total compensation package for employees.

$110,000$160,000 USD
