The Data Analyst, Corporate Quality Assurance – Ventures will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support the quality and food safety processes, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and drive continuous improvement in production quality.

This role will be instrumental in improving data collection, analysis and reporting capabilities of the team. A successful candidate will leverage data to identify trends, provide insights, and contribute to the growth and efficiency of the business.

Key stakeholders will include quality assurance, production, and operations teams to identify trends, track product quality metrics, and provide data-driven insights to enhance product consistency and meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection & Management: Gather, organize, and maintain quality control data from various sources audits, complaints, product analysis reports and other enterprise tools. Ensure data integrity and accuracy for ongoing analysis.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that impact product quality. Prepare and present reports with actionable insights, including charts, graphs, and statistical summaries, to support decision-making at various organizational levels.

  • Quality Control Metrics Tracking: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product quality, such as defect rates, production efficiency, raw material consistency, and compliance with food safety standards.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address quality issues by conducting statistical analysis, performing root cause investigations, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Compliance & Regulatory Support: Assist in the preparation and analysis of data for regulatory audits, ensuring compliance with food safety standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, ISO, HACCP). Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and quality standards.

  • Process Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing data-driven recommendations to optimize manufacturing processes, improve product quality, and reduce waste or defects.

  • Data Visualization & Dashboard Creation: Create and maintain dashboards for real-time quality monitoring, highlighting key quality metrics and performance trends for management and operational teams.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the Quality Control, Production, and R&D teams to communicate findings, support process changes, and ensure quality standards are consistently met.

  • Automation: Be an expert in supporting teams to automate data collection and reporting processes.

  • Gathering Data: Collect data from multiple sources such as laboratory tests, production line data, inspection reports, and food safety monitoring systems.

  • Data Validation: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used in quality control processes, correcting any discrepancies or errors.

  • Database Management: Organize, store, and maintain large sets of quality control data for easy retrieval and analysis.

  • Trend Analysis: Analyze trends and patterns in product quality data over time (e.g., defect rates, batch variations, or consistency in raw materials).

  • Statistical Analysis: Use statistical tools and techniques (e.g., control charts, hypothesis testing, regression analysis) to identify variations and outliers in product quality and production processes.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Food Science, Data Science, Engineering, Microbiology, Chemistry, Statistics, or other related Sciences

  • 3 or more years of experience in Quality, Supply Chain, Food Safety &/or R&D

  • Strong understanding of data analysis tools and software.

  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data visualization principles.

  • Knowledge of HACCP, and food safety management systems.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making techniques.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work independently.

  • Travel requirements:  Approximately 15% travel may be required for key project needs.

The base salary range for this position is $83,800 to $115,225; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
