Summary:

The Executive Director, RCM Business Development is responsible for driving strategic revenue growth and cultivating deep, consultative partnerships with new clients to develop new revenue cycle management (RCM) business. This leader will go beyond traditional sales, engaging clients as a trusted advisor to co-develop tailored RCM solutions that optimize financial performance. By integrating business development, client strategy, and sales operations, this role will shape and execute go-to-market strategies that drive new client relationships, expand market presence, and align closely with the organization’s financial and operational goals. The role will support leadership in developing and executing strategies to maximize revenue growth and streamline sales operations within the revenue cycle management domain. This leader will independently, and in partnership with leadership, drive sales and organic growth towards achieving ambitious revenue targets, fostering strong client relationships, and ensuring the seamless integration of sales processes with financial objectives. The role demands a dynamic, results-oriented professional with a deep understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in sales management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement consultative go-to-market strategies that align with the company’s revenue cycle objectives and focuses on long-term client value.

  • Drive sustainable growth by identifying opportunities for co-created solutions that meet evolving client needs.

  • Drive the growth and expansion of the sales pipeline through innovative approaches and market analysis.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to influence and advise strategic decisions and scopes of work based on market trends and client insights.

  • Support leadership to effectively to set and achieve revenue goals, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design scalable, client-specific solutions that enhance RCM performance and outcomes.

  • Ensure the integration of sales activities with the company’s revenue cycle processes to maximize efficiency and profitability.

  • Promote seamless alignment between client expectations, internal capabilities, and revenue operations to ensure delivery excellence.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in sales operations.

  • Identify and remove friction points in the client engagement process, enhancing both experience and profitability.

  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure custom client solutions that can be delivered successfully.

  • Leverage personal network to assess and develop new business that expands Ovation’s RCM footprint.

  • Build and nurture deep, trust-based relationships with new client stakeholders, ensuring high satisfaction and long-term loyalty.

  • Provide market intelligence to influence the development of new service offerings and revenue-generating initiatives.

  • Monitor industry developments and healthcare revenue cycle trends to anticipate client needs and develop proactive strategies.

  • Develop and present regular reports on sales performance, revenue forecasts, and market insights to the executive team.

  • Utilize data analytics to drive decision-making and improve sales outcomes.

  • Implement and manage CRM systems to track sales activities and client interactions.

Work Experience, Education, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in RCM operational, advisory, and/or sales leadership roles, with a focus on revenue cycle management or healthcare services.

  • 5 years of selling to Hospital, Health Systems, IDN.

  • Experience with consultative or solution-based selling models.

  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets and driving business growth.

  • Demonstrated success in building C-suite level partnerships within healthcare organizations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes and best practices.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
