Job description

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs to lead and enhance the organization’s corporate communications and government relations strategies. This pivotal role will work closely with executive leadership to ensure that the company’s image and brand are effectively communicated to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in public relations, advocacy, and corporate communication management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement corporate affairs strategies that strengthen the company’s reputation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Manage media relations, including drafting press releases and preparing executives for media interactions.
  • Coordinate government relations efforts to advocate for the company's position on public policy issues.
  • Serve as a point of contact for community engagement initiatives and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels, including social media, internal communications, and public relations.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership and Board meetings regarding corporate affairs activities.
  • Monitor media coverage and public perception, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Lead and mentor a team of corporate communications professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively for corporate affairs initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.
  • Significant understanding of public relations, media relations, and advocacy.
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in creating engaging content.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in building relationships with stakeholders, including government officials, media, and community leaders.
  • Experience with crisis communication and reputation management strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret media trends and public sentiment.
  • Ability to inspire and lead a team, demonstrating strong leadership abilities.
