Job description

Job Summary

The Director for Global Business Development within our business-to-business sales organization will play a critical role in driving global business development strategy for our Contract Manufacturing Organization. This role will manage all global opportunities and leads from the first contact until the handover for commercialization projects. The position will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive global business development strategy, fostering key customer relationships, and ensuring alignment within regional sales and Key Account Management (KAM) teams to maximize growth and market penetration.


As an important role with a global function, the Director for Global Business Development will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing and Product Management, to identify and capitalize on business opportunities to expand the company’s footprint in the global Contract Manufacturing market space. This will also be pivotal in managing strategic accounts (including MedTech, big pharma and biotech), building partnerships, and negotiating high-value contracts together with the related KAM teams.


*Position may be worked remotely, with willingness and ability to travel 30-40% (domestic & international).

• Base salary range: $167,000-$202,500

• Position is eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan with a target of 16% of the base salary.

• Position is eligible to participate in our medium-term incentive plan.

• Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a global business development strategy for the Contract Manufacturing
  • Organization - MedTech, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and market dynamics.
  • Define and lead the execution of business development goals across all regions.
  • Establish clear business development goals for regional teams and track performance against these objectives, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategy.
  • Provide ongoing support to the sales and KAM teams, including assisting with complex deals, pricing strategy, sales presentations, and P&L/Budget activities.
  • Support negotiations and the closing of complex sales agreements, partnerships, and licensing
  • opportunities with key global accounts and partners.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with technical teams to discuss customer requested product details and support in the answering of new customer RFP/RFQ processes.
  • Acting as a kind of brand ambassador for our CMO MedTech business at Conferences and Fairs.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Economics, Life Science, or related field. MBA or
  • advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in sales and business development within pharmaceutical or medical devices industries.
  • Deep understanding directly working in the medical devices industry with experience in relation to market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Ability to travel up to 30-40% with willingness to travel internationally.
