Position Purpose: The Sales Assistant III is responsible for providing sales and service support to achieve sales retention, growth and profitability goals.

  • Assists Account Executives/Account Managers with development of sales/renewal strategy to achieve growth and retention targets.
  • Develops and maintains successful employer group and agent relationships, including benefit decision-makers and administrative personnel.
  • Provides phone and email back-up for sales managers, Account Executives and Account Managers.
  • Responds to phone and e-mail inquiries from internal and external customers in regards to sales/service issues.
  • Resolves customer and agent issues through research and investigation with internal departments, promoting and improving customer service and satisfaction.
  • Develops and completes new and renewing business proposals. Ensures accuracy of new business group quote request forms and group renewal request forms, including contacting agents to obtain any missing data.
  • Develops and maintains a professional working relationship with underwriting, resolving new and renewal plan option questions/issues for agents and clients.
  • Assists Account Executives with follow up phone call program for prospects.
  • Ensures successful implementation of renewals and new groups ensuring accurate enrollment packet requests, completion of mapping and coding, and other related processes.
  • Provides support during enrollment process, which may include participating in new and renewing group enrollment meetings and health fairs.
  • Tracks quotes, new and renewing group information through the sales database.

Education/Experience: College degree desirable. Minimum three years health insurance/managed care sales support experience or similar experience in the health insurance/managed care field

License/Certification: Valid health and life license preferred

Pay Range: $22.79 - $38.84 per hour
